Cardiff GP 2025 Cancelled
eric i replied to Phil's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Conspiracy theory, They kept Cardiff on the calendar because its good to attract sponsors, once the sponsors signed on the dotted line they switch Cardiff for Belle Vue. I understand the SON lost a lot of money, ok a GP will be more popular but I think in order for Discovery to make some money they needed to do 2 crowd pullers, it was always the plan in my opinion. I will put money on it being 2gps at belle vue in 2026 as well. -
2025 GP line up/wildcards

Well I can't say I am surprised, leaving Cardiff superficially on the calendar was probably to gain sponsorship, it was always their intention to cancel it. -
Something definitely went wrong with Poole team building, not like Poole to come in 0.96 under the points limit. Probably won't matter if Cairns lives up to expectation/hype.

Is Declan as good as Zaine? How old is he?

I think that is the team 39.33, 0.67 under limit but decent team. I might have gone with MPT over Jake Allen. Where is Ryan Douglas have his testimonial?

what podcast was he on?

SGB Championship 2025 - Confirmed Signings
eric i replied to Kerryxo's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I know it hasn't been confirmed yet but is the points limit likely to be 38. -
I would say so, history shows when speedway clubs have gone up and down the leagues there has been little change in crowd level. The star riders in the Premiership may have a very slight crowd draw, Emil, Tai or Bewley but I think there is more than a few teams that would be financially better off running at NL level. Also Birmingham might finally have a winning team.

Don't the FIM allocate how many nominations/place go to each nation, give the places which would have gone to Russia (pre war) to Poland on the understanding they give them to Emil and Laguta. Discovery then agree with PZM not to show the Russian or Polish flag or play the national anthems for either rider.

Money talks -
I agree, there are a few tracks that would benefit from bringing in the kerb on both ends, banking the track from airbag to kerb

Mikkel Michelsen (Wildcard) Maciej Janowski (Wildcard) Leon Madsen (Wildcard) Jason Doyle (Wildcard) Thorrsell first reserve -
feel for Thorsseell, Fricke was very lucky
-
Mulford should be excluded for that
-
5 rides from the GPs, not many riders would turn down that oportunity down no matter how hard up they were.

2025 GP line up/wildcards

I am surprised, there has been a lot of talk about the viability of the Cardiff GP. Some fans won't pay to watch 2 gps, I think this will be the last Cardiff GP. -
He may make the GPs at some point but these young poles can suddenly find it more difficult when they are too old for the protected reserve berth. People would have said similar about Smektała, Drabik, Miśkowiak, cierniak, while these riders still have plenty of time on their side none of them look like GP riders at this moment in time. I think there has only ever been 4 riders that have gone on to win the world championship after winning the under 21's.

Przyjemski is good out the gate and is sat on rocket ship but I don't think we aren't looking at a future GP champ imo.
