  1. I went to a Speedway meeting at San Pardo in Majorca around about 1971 . There were about 6,000 people there and I think the meeting was won by Marshall Pugh Half of the riders were Spanish but very inexperienced
  2. An extra 100 people paying £15.00 equates to £1,500 a meeting and if your club has 25 home meetings a season that would make £37.000 in a seasonThat looks quite good to me
  3. It might have something to do with I was thereLike Goteberg went from 17,000 to 12,000 to 9,000 to 6000 in the last four years and they needed 18,000 to break even
  4. But Big Mac prices are have different prices all over the world, In fact they can cost differently in just GBBritian can compete in manufacturing. Britain is behind Germany in car manufacturing, and within the next year will pass France to be second in Europe. The biggest problem Speedway has had in the last two years has been the weather. People will still go to Speedway if the weather is good. I am sure the cost of Petrol is a bigger problem than a £10 cost. Many people will not travel to Speedway if the weather is inclement. , it's not because its not £10
  5. Bookies are all over the place on this GP. . Unibet have Nk Iversen has favourite at 5.00 yet most other bookmakers have him at 9.00. Emil Sayfutdinov is top price @ 6.5, Freddie Lindgren is between 21.00 to 50.00. Surely Andreas Jonsson must have a good GP soon. 50.00 must be his biggest price ever. Last GP I laid Tomasz Gollob @ 18/1 and never took a single penny for him,, will 10.5 on home ground tempt anybody this time. Antonio Lindbeck has had some good and awful GP's Looks like another bad one as he is priced up at 200/1 How can Tai Woffinden be so short as 11/1 but available at 18/1. Mataj Zagar is as short as 12/1 and large as 20/1 This looks like one of the open GP's if the betting is anything to go by
  6. For the oldies ". The Post Horn Gallop" at Wembley as the riders came out on the track At the end of the race a cannon used to go off. For the not quite so oldies "A walk in the black forest " at Ipswich.
  7. Early Betting from Bet Victor for Saturday's GP Emil Sayfutdinov............5.00 Chris Holder....................6.00 Jarek Hampel..................7.00 Tomasz Gollob.................7.00 Krzysztof Kasprzak...........9.00 NK Iversen........................9.00 Greg Hancock..................13.00 Nicki Pedersen..................17.00 Tai Woffinden......................17.00 Mataj Zagar..........................13.00 Bartoz Zmarzik......................21.00 Freddie Lindgren...................29.00 Andreas Jonsson...................41.00 Martin Vaculik..........................41.00 .Antonio Lindbeck....................67.00 Ales Dryml..............................501.00 Surely Tai Woffinden will not ride. As Emil could possibly won the last four GP 4/1 looks a pretty generous price. Fast Freddie looks interesting at 29.00 as an E/W bet
  8. What is the best site for Swedish Speedway results?
  9. The starting time did not seem to stop youngsters attending years ago
  10. They were also 10/11 now shortened to 8/11.William Hill and Bet Victor go Edinburgh +10. which seems quite a good start for the visitors with Craig Cook (who scored 13 last time here) then coming in for a tactical ride if they drop that far behind
  11. Unusually Speedway fans have a choice of channel for Tuesday's speedway. Premier Sports have live also Vetlanda v Dackarna
  12. Did not Reading Speedway have a 99 year lease on their stadium? So four years does not amount to a hill of beans
  13. The scoring system they use is a joke (4-3-2-0) It is possible that you can win the tournament w/ithout winning one race., or the opposite like Greg Hancock winning every race and USA could possibly finish last. The presentation of the whole meeting was a joke starting with we did not know all the riders that would be taking part.. Then the start time for TV kept being set back. as there was a tennis match on that we could not see . Then the other Eurosport channel had recorded highlights of earlier snooker match. . We never saw the first few races. Then we did not know in some races who was riding. In one race it had Jarek Hampel on gate 4 at the tapes then cut to Jarek Hampel talking in the pits.
  14. So why have Eurosport not got Live Speedway on one channel and live tennis on the other channel. Instead they are showing a fill in programme on one channel and recorded snooker highlights on the other. Surely Eurosport have got it the wrong way round
  15. The Bryan brothers have just made it 5-5 in the tennis ,so at least two more games . This match could go another half hour
  16. If Eurosport are the main sponsors of the Men's doubles final why can we not see it instead of seeing fill in programmes.
  17. Now start time but back to 19.05.Any bets on what will be the next start time
  18. What the hell is going on. Programme should have started at 18.00. Then this was pushed back to 18.25 which then moved on to 18.35. It's now come up as starting at 18.45. They are just showing crashes of some inferior motor bike sport
  19. Will Craig Cook of Edinburgh set a record this season for riding for so many different teams. He must have featured in half a dozen Ipswich matches already this season.. Does anybody know who holds the record. I think Kevin Doohan has done quite a few in the last couple of years. I wonder which league has the most guest riders?
  20. Hilly and Mark 1, you got good odds there and the bookies are on general retreat on Lakeside now. Stan James , Ladbrokes and Skybet are all shortening their odds . I saw Panbet had Lakeside at 1.91 at -7.5 and tried to place a bet of £120 at those odds . I have not had a bet with them this year but they only allowed me £11.75. I sometimes wonder if some of these bookmaker would be better off running sweet shops
  21. I would think the odds on a British Grand Prix at 17.00 hours tomorrow to be 1/3 not to go ahead and 2/1 for it to race
  22. If there is going to be an announcement at 6.00 tomorrow morning the signs do not look good at al, l for the GP to go ahead tomorrow at 17.00. If there is nothing to worry about when why make a statement about it.. That could leave the alternative of delaying the start time until later or postpone it until Sunday or the worse possible answer cancel it altogether. Let's hope the Gp still takes place tomorrow otherwise the GP's will be finished in this country.
  23. Jules take a look at Sportingbet 50/1 on there for KK So interesting odds around with Jarek Hampel @ 13.00, NickiPedersen '@ 15.00 Matej Zagar and Greg Hancock @ 21.00. Tomasz Gollob @11.00 and NK Iversen ranges from 9.5 to 19.00
