Not a very good idea. That would mean that a promotion would only sell 25% of their programmes for every four matches. Then there would be programme advertising which would be cut by 75% Then what would happen if the last meeting of the month was a rain off. .Then if it is re-arranged within the next month it would not be in that month's programme either as it will already have been printed Definatley a non starter.

Betwin paid my handicap bet yesterday. much to my surprise. But my bet was Coventry with 6.5 start so what ever the result of heat 15 was it made no difference If heat 15 had been run Poole could only have scored 3 as they only had one rider. -
With the accident of World Champion Chris Holder, what would people on this forum regard as the safest track and also which are some that are a bit dodgy. I know a lot of people said some of the older fences like the wooden one at Ipswich were better than some of the air fences around stadiums today. Rye House regard their wire fence better than an air fence. Some air fences are dangerous if a rider goes underneath and hits a solid support post

Speedway Betting 2013

I think you missed what my posting was saying . They can lay odds on two individual scorers but cannot give odds on the match. Its like saying we will lay you odds the first goalscorer and not on either team in a football match. -

The Spineless people we call Bookmakers are at it again. Tonight's speedway match Eastbourne v Peterborough is covered by three bookmakers only at 19.00 Bet 365 are so brave offering odds on scores on Bjarne Pedersen and Kenneth Bjerre but no match odds. As most people know these are mugs bets. Yesterday I had £220 bets on the Coventry v Poole match. Due to heat 15 not taking place 4 of my 6 bets were voided and one bet was Coventry +5.5 was voided by Betwin yet they paid me on scratch on Coventry. I would like to pass on a message to Chis Holder as say get well soon as that means much more than if I win or lose -

I feel for Matej Zagar. Led the first time of asking ,then ref puts red light on , then in rerun leads with ES caught in no mans land . Probably MZ must be most frustrated. -

Good Betting for Danish GP tonight. Best Backed Chris Holder'@7.8, Tai Woffinden @ 8.2 and Nicki Pedersen @ 11 No money all all for Tomasz Gollob @ 28.00. I think that is the biggest price I have laid him this Century. Nothing for Matej Zagar @ 38 or KK @27. -

Tonight's Speedway betting is generally Kings Lynn(-6) 10/11 v Swindon (+6) 10/11 with the draw 14/1 Tonight's head to head has Andrzej Lebedev getting 5 start against Cory Gathercole . Is the lad really that bad because 5 does seem a big start. Bet Victor have Poole giving up 15 against Belle vue @Evens . Poole have been backed today to win the league with Skybet . They have gone from 14/1 to 8/1.They can never be written off -
Sorry but it was the UK that started the speedway World championships and as we were the strongest speedway country in Europe at the start on the 1960's we should have told the other countries the world championships stay here and you can get stuffed Look at the world's Darts competition . There are quite a lot of different nations competing but the final is always in England. Then move on to Snooker. I think the world final has been in England for the last 80 years. As Uk speedway had the rights to Speedway World finals why did we give them up.?
-
So why did the British promoters or British Speedway Control Board let other countries have the world final.. The world finals started unofficially as the "Star" Championship.in 1929 and then becoming the World Championships in 1936. World finals stayed at Wembley until 1962 where it went to Malmo in Sweden where the gate was only 30% of Wembley. Rather simple really . The average wage in GB is over three times that in Poland. On that basis £6 to £10 admission would work out £18 to £30. So overall Speedway is cheaper in UK than Poland. Petrol costs 1.30 Euros a litre in Poland so that is about 10% cheaper than in UK.

. In the county cricket league last season , the highest county attendance was under 40,000 and the lowest was 10,000. That was for a whole season. No wonder Lancashire lost £2,500,000 last season. So where do you get idea from that Cricket does not have trouble attracting spectators . County cricket is only being kept alive from the test match revenue that each county receives and even that is falling. Unlike Speedway that receives nothing now from the Grand Prix's unlike yesteryear when the world finals at Wembley were shared out amongst the UK clubs. The UK promoters should give the riders a choice either GP speedway or European speedway. The profits from the GP's should go to Speedway not to a commercial company

Speedway could never run on £10 admission. That is completely silly. Take the 20% VAT off that and that brings the take down to £8.34. I pay more that that for a chinese Takeaway. I am going to see Essex v England in a Cricket match at Chelmsford. next monday Admission price £30. My tennis club has 2 tickets for Number One court at Wimbledon on Saturday , £100 the two, two tickets for next Thursday on Centre Court, £200, Dearest tickets to watch Arsenal next season £121 a match. £50 to see the Golf open. £25 to see the Premier Dart League.

Entertainment Tax after the war was 45% which was increased to 52% in 1951. This was paid on admission at Sports, Theatres and Cinemas.

Sport England. Do We Apply For Funds?
mickthemuppet replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Having a small contact with Sport England, I had been told by one of their reps that they had been in contact with Buster Chapman about six months ago.So perhaps they are trying to organise something for Speedway (perhaps it might be football) -
Ipswich V Rye House (premier League) 20th June
mickthemuppet replied to Shadders's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Would tonight's meeting against Rye House be the lowest attendance ever at Foxhall Heath for a local derby. I am sure if this was a local derby in the Elite League against Kings Lynn there would have been 4 times as many people there. I must applaud the improvements Speedworth are making to the stadium but is it too little too late? -
