Slight retreat from the bookies tonight. Stan James and Skybet opened up with Belle Vue at -6 , now both go -8. Another good night for the punters to follow the previous wins -

I find B/Win bookmaking all over the place . I opened an account with them 5 years ago ,and had no problem placing a £100 bet ,sometimes higher. I only back on Speedway. generally. Then the next year they started limiting my bets which gradually went down to £34.00. The next year I tried to place a bet and was told my account had been closed . So I opened an account in my son's name and was back to £100 bets again. Then they said £79.40 was the maximum stake I could have Lots of times they never put any odds up at all. This season my first bet was for £100 but they said this was to high but I could have £16.81. They certainly had some funny amounts for limits. So I thought I will withdraw my money and not bother with them any more. Then they put up on Monday Belle Vue @ -2.5 against Coventry @ 1.85. So I put £50.00 in and it was accepted.although shortly afterwards they took those odds down and put up 5.5. I have noticed that they have been putting up the odds earlier and covering more matches.this season and also changing them more often as some are hopelessly out. I am a shareholder in B/Win but they do not give me any special treatment. Perhaps I should go to their AGM and kick up a fuss. -

All the bookmakers are in general retreat on tonight's match up. They are running scared of Swindon having all reduced their odds and made there handicap higher. Have all the punters got it right? -

First Betting up on tonight's match are Swindon (-8) 10/11 v Peterborough (+8) 10/11 Draw 14/1. Both with Skybet and Stan James I spoke to Stan James at the weekend and they say they will only be betting on live matches in the future. Shame as they used to be one of the originators of betting on all non live matches -

Gates for Championship football are down by 6% ,Division One by 12% and Division Three by 5% -
No different to footballers going out on loan to other clubs, then going back to their own clubs again. How many footballers out on loan at the moment, perhaps 200 Speedway compared to football is well run Ipswich football club just released their figures for last year and they lost £16m last year to take their total debt up to £80million. This is from a club that only went broke a decade ago.knocking all the local tradesmen. P.s They also have 7 players on loan and virtually no assets.

I got Birmingham at -2 with B/Win but that soon came down and they are now -8.5 You can get King's Lynn @ +6 with Bet Victor but they have now clipped the price to 4/6 , Sportingbet go 19/20 KL with 3 start and B/Win are 1.85 with +4.5 handicap. -
Easter Monday-why No Fixtures
mickthemuppet replied to mickthemuppet's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
But that does not stop the other two leagues from having fixtures. -
Today is Easter Monday and there is only one Speedway fixture. Why? This is one of the biggest Sporting afternoons in the calendar and there is only Rye House v Ipswich to go and see. Surely any club would get more punters through the gate this afternoon rather than an evening fixture. Then you will get promoters saying the gates are down. There should have been a full programne this afternoon.

Is this the first time ever that the Speedway Star has not published a programme for a GP. Has things changed now the GP's will be on Eurosport. and they do not have the rights? -

I wonder who is going to host the programme. I take it that it will not be Nigel Pearson or Kelvin Tatum. -
Speedway On Eurosport

I would be very surprised if the Grand Prix's are not shown live. If it is not live, Eurosport are not going to pay very much for it. Surely if they are going to the trouble of showing the NZ GP live in the middle of the night then they will be showing the other GP's live. With 4 nights out of 6 for the World cup it would not be very interesting if not shown live. -

A excellent day out. Good weather ,plenty of Speedway folk there Many thanks to Paradise Wildlife Park. Nice to hear the bikes revving up again. -
They certainlty would increase. Every single TV live match if not televised would have probably 1000 more people there. So 20 non TV matches, during a season, that would be 20,000 more people going. I used to go to all my teams home matches except when they were on TV live, and then I did not go. Belle Vue should double the amount of people going there in 2014 Speedway has always been most successful when there has been no live speedway on Television.
