  1. Just to be sure I have checked the regs. 01.67 A helmet is made to provide protection. It is not a platform to attach foreign objects. Cameras and/or other accessories are NOT permitted nor shall be attached to the rider's helmet. So like you say the peak may be safe, especially if it has a green M on it
  2. I've had a positive message from Tim Dixon, he has practiced this afternoon, the leg was ok. So he is looking forward to the race tonight.
  3. Tim Dixon will ride in Berlin tonight, despite having stitches in his thigh after a training crash in Sweden. Good luck Tim
  4. Great weekend for Tim Dixon, debut meeting, and after his Bollnäs meeting a gold medal for being part of the ÖMK League winning side. Many congratulations Tim. He will now stay in Sweden to train, before travelling down to Berlin to ride in the German Championship
  5. From what he has said, he will be there, there are a lot of riders hoping for a spot though.
  6. Nice to see Tim Dixon make his debut race in Örnsköldsvik yesterday. He will start in the Bollnäs race today as well, good luck Tim.
  7. I have been told that there is nothing planned this winter☹
  8. There is a short video on you tube, by Chris Simpson, if you Google it.
  9. You can always vote with your feet and stop going like thousands before you have done. You have the choice, nobody forces you to attend.
  10. I was lucky to have seen him ride grass track, speedway and enduro. I still have the photo of him that hung in Artdeans Motorcycle shop in Rodbourne, thanks for the memories. RIP Bernie
  11. 6 years ago there were some two valve GMs in ice racing a Finnish rider I know still has his.
  12. I heard from two championship riders they were on £60 and £70 a point this season. I was never told if there was any signing on fee or guarantee payment.
  13. Didn't Exeter speedway run a meeting using grasstrack riders every year. I seem to remember it being called speedtrack, to avoid the problems with the BSPA who hold the rights to speedway as a name for motorcycle racing
  14. All that will do is undermine the valuations of the club's currently up for sale. With no assets all promoters have to sell are second-hand tractors and worthless BSPA members tickets.
  15. He was second in the World Under 21 final in 1995, falling in the run off with Jason Crump. So he had the talent and potential, sadly it never happened.
  16. Posting on here can be classed as an addiction
  17. He was the team manager at Kumla until two years ago. He is now busy with his son, who looks a good prospect on the junior speedway scene in Sweden. He still has problems with his back/ neck, which was the reason he quit riding.
  18. I think the quote was from Ronnie Moore relating a conversation with a top British tour rider who thought he was special. Vince, there is an image of a laid down J.A.P on newcastlespeedayhistory.com
  19. The 4 valve concept was not a new idea, the 1930's ? Rudge engines had 4 valves. I wonder if the pre-war riders worried about the costs changing to the two valve J.A.P's
  20. I thought PC aquited himself quite well when he was on the superstars tv program, perhaps that is selective memory again.
  21. Somerton Park wasn't the best track to overtake on either with its four corners. That together with the advantage the 4 valves had from the start made the pair nearly unbeatable
  22. Didn't the scoring mean second and third won, there was no reason for any other rider to beat him. Perhaps the reason he was so dominant was other rides understood the rules
