  1. Fairly steady light drizzle now, looks well set in, hopefully this will go over soon.
  2. Dry in Berwick overnight and dry right now, though it is very cloudy. Thundery showers are forecast from mid-morning to mid-afternoon, then its an improving picture, so right now its all down to how many or how heavy the showers are that will determine if we get racing tonight.
  3. Don't worry I use my own calculations, its far more accurate. Nonsense, the title of this thread is "end of Monarchs unbeaten run", we have nothing to fear.
  4. How many points we get from R/R determine whether we win this meeting or not, Wethers, Jensen, Carr and Kus are the eligible riders. I`m thinking Kus could be a busy boy IMO.
  5. Best wishes to Schramm on a long and happy retirement.
  6. With the weather being so lovely in Berwick today its difficult to believe the forecast for tomorrow isn't so clever, but not so clever it is. Saturday will be a warm and humid day with the threat of heavy thundery rain showers, mostly in the morning and the middle part of the day. From mid-afternoon onwards the forecast is an improving one, hopefully the damage will not have been done by then. Fingers crossed we miss most of the rain and are treated to a decent meeting.
  7. Sounds are great idea, but it would take some setting up but if we could get it going it would be a huge positive from this forum.
  8. Quite possibly, so all Peterborough have to do then is re-declare using another 3pt average rider.
  9. Should these changes, including Schlein, fit, then I don't see any reason why Peterborough should be able to re-declare.
  10. One would like to believe that Berwick would make "every effort to put on the best possible show" for each and every meeting staged at Shielfield.
  11. Aspegren is racing in Sweden, Aarnio is still racing around Europe.
  12. I was told about the possibility of pickpockets while in Prague, happily everything was fine and to be honest I felt no more threatened there than walking around any big city, you just need to be careful, for example is probably isn't the best idea to be walking around late at night with hundreds of pounds worth of camera sticking out your bag, especially around the touristy bits like Charles Bridge or Wenslases Square.
  13. Having already sacked him would Sheffield be allowed to re-introduce Roynon, and would the rider be all that keen on the idea anyway.
  14. Have a look at Travel Plus, they do all the GP`s and usually organise a league meeting into your trip.
  15. I broke my GP virginity at Prague this year and had a fantastic time, lovely city, easy travelling and food & drink cheap.
  16. Never been to Cardiff before but giving it some serious thought about next year. I have asked friends who have been before and it seems staying just outside Cardiff is the cheaper option. One stayed at the Travelodge Hotel in the services on the M4 which according to the Travelodge site is 8-5m from the stadium, so might look at that, others stayed in Caerphilly or Newport.
  17. I agree I think GB should get two GP`s, we have stadia that would be able to cope, Wembley, though I think that is unlikely, Olympic Park, and what about Hampden Park, just about to be used for the Commonwealth Games after having a 400m running track laid. Brandon of course has already hosted a GP some years ago, maybe we could go back there and give the stadium a fitting send off over the next couple of years while the National Stadium is being built ay Manchester.
  18. Cardiff really does set the standard, will BSI consider a slight reduction in ticket prices so the place sells out, maybe the hotels in Cardiff might do like wise.
  19. Tad unfair, Cook making the GP was fantastic, hopefully he will learn from tonight a kick on with his career, he has decent ability, if he gets contracts in Poland & Sweden etc he can cut a decent career for himself.
  20. Ales Dryml has pulled out due to a back injury, Peterborough will go with R/R.
