Berwick V Workington 24/05/2014 @7pm
screm replied to screm's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I was delighted Berwick signed him, I thought he would be the key rider if we were to have a decent season. Fair to say he got off to an indifferent start to the season but over the last few meetings he has shown a consistent level of performance and scoring that could be a huge plus to Berwick. -

Lewis Rose will miss tomorrows meeting, Newcastle will go with R/R, Redcars Luke Crang will come in as a guest for Chris Schramm. -

Had it not been for Berwick its fair to say Kus would not have had a team over here, so if he is paying back the faith Berwick showed in him then fair play to the lad. He has hit some decent form of late, and going with a NL guest as Berwick would've had to do would've been hopeless, lets hope Kus is rewarded with a big score this Saturday. -

Now that this meeting has gone for the third time running, surely Sheffield will do the decent thing and concede the tie. -

With ten riders going through to the next stage, I doubt even Harris could cock that up. -

But what system would go in place, didn't they try a grading system a few years ago which was binned after one year. I like the rolling averages they have now, yes its a bugger to work out, but far better than the month to month CMA`s they used to have which at times was nothing more than an average fiddling exercise. -

Berwick are riding well as a team and with a bit of confidence, Sheffield to win on the night but Berwick to go through. -

Checkout speedwayresults.com, there`s some previous results from meetings Gappmaier has taken part in, not to many from last year but one or two from the years previous. -

Not so as the Berwick newsletter indicates, Kolodziej was indeed due to race at Berwick, then him and Janowski swapped venues. Anyway we have our line-up and its a one to look forward to. -

I couldn't give two hoots what makes you smile, my invitation for you to put me on ignore still remains. When Berwick had this meeting before the field that night was good but not great IMO, this time round IMO this might just be the best ever field for a meeting since Berwick returned to Shielfield. If the weather behaves itself Berwick should be rewarded with a massive crowd. -

As long as Berwick are collecting full 3pt home wins then Carr should be allowed to get himself into some kind of form, however in tight meetings, Carr`s odd point here and there could be the difference between winning and not though zero scores on a regular bases are no good for rider and more importantly team. -

7 June in Berwick and Ljubljana and 9 June in Abensbergu will be played qualification for the Grand Prix. These tournaments are six Polish representatives. After swapping seats between Janusz Wheelwright and Peter Pawlickim, next to castling. This time, "Koldi" will start in place of Maciej Janowskiego in Ljubljana, in turn "Magic" will go in Berwick. The Polish authorities changed their nominations, lets call it my Berrington Lough moment. -

Can the Poles not make anymore changes and stick with Janowski & Pawlicki, there`s reputations to hold up on here. -

My sources from Poland are telling me that the two Polish representatives at Berwick will be Przemyslaw Pawlicki & Janusz Kolodziej -

Cant do without the Tigers in the PL for travelling support and bar takings. -

People voting with their feet is no good, and could spell the end of Glasgow Speedway which I am sure nobody wants to see. Hopefully they find the winning way on a regular bases very soon. -

Aarnio, Henry, Hall and Rosen are available, but apart from Rosen there`s hardly anything there that would quicken the pulse. Would Glasgow really go down the route of trying to get a rider from the EL to double down as Newcastle have done with Danny King recently. -

Sorry couldn't resist. Seriously though it does look Glasgow could do with a team change, though you might say that about a few teams right now in the PL, and there in lies the problem, right now is there any better alternatives out there, and when you add in the fact Glasgow race on a Sunday it might make it all the more difficult to attract riders who have the chance of riding in Poland. -

By replacement I take it you mean short term till Berge is fit, though I can think of one club who would love to have the chance in signing Berge, maybe even taking him on as a club asset. -

Agree about Berge he would've been better than 4pts. Not seen any recent update, last think I saw was that he had been released from hospital and had gone back to France for some recuperation. -

Cant speak for any other meetings but on last night he was slow from the gate and not much quicker thereafter which given his previous Shielfield performances was probably the difference in Ipswich collecting some points than not, he must be better than his performance last night. -
