  1. Tough luck on Glasgow not to record a long awaited home win but its Somerset who record a victory with a last heat 5-1.
  2. To be fair the tracks been pretty good for a few weeks now, with reasonable racing, but as you say last night it was horrendous, and by announcing that Tweedmouth was hit with monsoon like rain on Friday night makes all the worse. If you screw the track up either dont say anything or come out and be up front and apologise if you think it neccessary, but dont make a fool of people.
  3. With the condition Shielfield was in last night I wouldnt be judging any rider.
  4. Sadly for Glasgow I cant see anything other than an away win,and maybe quite a comfortable one at that.
  5. Fair play to Somerset on their win, they came they saw they conquered.Doyle was quite imperious, racing to a maximum, and he was well back up by Grajczonek and Morris.Obviously their task was made all the easier after Barrett & Smith were withdrawn from the meeting when they tangled in Ht11.Both were taken to hospital,Barrett with concussion and Smith with a neck injury, hopefully that Smith walked back to the pits to wait on his ambulance, and Barrett walked into the ambulance means to news on any lasting injury will be good news. Sadly with only 4 race winners it was a bit of a night to forget for Berwick,Alden on his Berwick return was unaffective as was most of his teamates.Word of credit to Paul starke who did all that was asked og him, scoring in all his races bar one. Sadly, and annoyingly it was back to the bad old days reguarding the track.Seeing riders enter the first turn only to be fired out towards the fence is not what you pay money to see.I know our regular track guy is away on holiday, hurry ye back Heppie,as I hope whoever did the track last night wont be doing it again anytime soon.Of course we had the usual response last night of the keys are in the pits if you want to do it,which is just foolish.I and many others pay thirteen hard earned pounds for the privledge of watching 15 heats of entertaining speedway and over the last few weeks we have, last night, when you get racing like that makes you wonder if its all worth while.
  6. Tiny sprinkle of rain earlier this morning but otherwise dry, right now its cloudy but dry. You can be sure that Somerset will have marked this meeting down as a must win.
  7. Matej Zagar Tai Woffinden NK Iversen Martin Vaculik
  8. Bit of a hefty shower yesterday teatime, but its been generally dry in Berwick overnight.Right now theres some light drizzle around, forecast is for some showers mostly this afternoon. For those who dont visit some of the other threads there was a collection last night for Ricky Ashworth at the Scunthorpe v Plymouth match which raised the amazing sum of £967-04.
  9. Davey suffered a compound fracture to his femur,he had surgery today.
  10. Saturday is forecast to be a day of sunshine and showers, with a longer spell of rain around lunchtime, drying up in the afternoon.
  11. The time to dispense with Kus was probably long ago,hes been pretty abject for most of the season. Still see a few teams looking at him for next season, though probably not Redcar.
  12. Berwick only have 2 home meetings and 3 away left this season.
  13. Seb Alden couldnt have picked a tougher match to resume his Berwick career as I think the pacy Shiefield track will suit Somerset, especially the Aussie contingent.Against Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago Berwick put in an excellent performance with a come from behind win and IMO they will need something similar this saturday, sadly I think they will come up just short. Berwick 44 Somerset 48.
  14. The question was posed by the author of this thread a while ago "Seb who",I guess we will find out Saturday.
  15. Sorry my fault must've been watching a different Alden.
  16. "Went through the motions",really. While its true to say Alden did have one or two iffy meetings last year his finishing average would say he had a fairly decent season, infact his form towards the end of last season was excellent. Most fans would've liked him in the 2013 team but for whatever reason that didn't happen, but he`s back now though under circumstances nobody would want. Alden has proved a topscorer in the PL,end the season well for Berwick might just earn him a 2014 contract.
  17. Subject to approval Berwick have signed Seb Alden as an injury replacement for Ricky Ashworth.
  18. Im thinking theres a clue in this here post, but for the life of me I cant work it out.
  19. Young rider from Sweden, think he rides for Vestervik. In last weeks Speedway Star Rosen rode for Masarna in their 54-36 defeat to Ornarna,he scored 5+2.
  20. For the sake of Team GB for the next few years lets hope they do,must admit though I think theres more drive about Cook than there is about Barker.Woffindens out on his own just now,I dont see Harris,Nicholls etc getting any better,so its up to Cook,Barker,Bridger and others to show the ambition and move their careers on.
  21. I havent seen Glasgow yet this season,so last night was the 1st time Id seen Joe Jacobs, and from last night I was quite impressed. He got 5 rides, after the Dane Jokobsen was injured, scored 2pts but that couldve easily been more, bearing in mind the kind of opposition he was up against I thought he did more than ok.But then I see his scores for Glasgow and they look like two different riders, history shows that given the time most Aussies do come good, lets hope thats case for Jacobs and Glasgow for 2014.
  22. But where Cook is right now isnt such a bad place to be,representing your Country in the SWC,second in the Belle Vue averages and clear at the top of the PL averages. Its certainly fair to say that any pregress from here next year will be small, and Im sure we wont see Cook in the PL as he could very well pick up teams in Sweden and/or Poland which will bring him on as a rider I hope.
