  1. To be honest Newcastle are taking points away from a few tracks this season.
  2. The reserves are an obvious weakness in the Sheffield line-up,and if Hall is on the sidelines for and length of time thats going to put even more pressure on them to produce.Young Knight is excatly that, young, maybe the move up to the PL has come a bit quick for the lad and winning races in the NL may do him more favours than running lasts in the PL. Koppe was in amongst things last night, fell in his first ride, but was leading Ht14 before falling going into turn three on the first lap,and bring down Hall.
  3. Your right, though this weeks two Sky meetings went from one extreme to the other, slick track at Lakeside, crap meeting, track at King Lynn the following night was reasonably good but then again meetings at Saddlebow Road are usually good, maybe that comes down to track prep.
  4. You think, the shape of the track has changed very little if atall since speedway returned to Shielfield,we`ve had some cracking meetings during that time,so IMO we can put the shape of the track idea to bed. The return of speedway to Shielfield happened roughly about the time the change came from uprights to lay-down engines, its certainly true that changes in engine make-ups and changes to silencers might very well have something to do with the lack of on track entertainment but just how much is up for debate,IMO not a significant amount.
  5. I described this as a must win for Berwick so from that point of view it was a successful night with the home team grabbing all the points. In truth Berwick made heavy weather of beating a Sheffield team that ran with virtually four riders, with Albin,Koppe and Knight passengers. Star of the night was Simon Stead who raced to a faultless, effortless maximum,he was backed up by Wells and to a lesser extent Haines and Hall, sadly Sheffield lost Hall to a nasty looking Ht14 crash to looks like an upper arm injury.Hopefully it isnt as bad a is being feared and he will be back soon. Very worrying to see so many empty spaces on the terraces last night, but in all honesty if you serve up that kind of entertainment on a track thats prepared like that then you certainly cant blame people for keeping their £13s in their pocked. From the gate racing all night with only two (count them) two passes all night after the second bend, excatly what Sky will make of a meeting like this when they turn up goodness only knows. Looking forward to next week,Workington turn up next week and have their go at finding a secong racing line round Shielfield, and with Edinburgh & Redcar not racing that night,if they turn up with Dyer & Cook as guests it could get very untidy for the home team.Question is how many will be there to see it giving theres a GP that night and the entertainment that that series is serving up.
  6. There was far fewer there tonight than last weeks meeting with Edinburgh.
  7. From the gate racing, virtually no passing, what else can you say.
  8. Reserves have been Berwicks achillies heel in the last few meetings, but they should be far to strong for their Sheffield counterparts.
  9. Dry overnight in Berwick and its dry right now.Theres one or two clouds around but mostly bright if a bit on the chilly side. Hopefully Stead makes it for tonight but Summers is a decent choice of guest if he doesnt.Still fancy a Berwick home win though.
  10. Given the strengths of the Edinburgh team 37pts round Armadale for any away team is a bit of an achievement, for Berwick to get 37pts round Armadale is a bit of a miracle.
  11. Its reported there was a hastily arranged between the riders and our track team after last weeks defeat to Edinburgh.Hopefully those opinions from the riders will at least have been taken on board and where ever possible acted on,of course ask seven riders what track they want and your likely to get seven different opinions, but theres got to be a happy medium for all concerned. It cant be that hard......can it.
  12. Weather forecast fairly reasonable for this match, there will be drizzle over night and possibly into tomorrow morning, but by lunchtime that should all have gone leaving a bright and dry afternoon and evening. I hope Stead will be fit,and be at Berwick tomorrow,he is a class act in the PL.However if hes not able to give his best I hope Sheffield go with a guest, theres plenty of decent alternatives. Claus Vissing.
  13. Other than Berwick and Sheffield there are four other PL tracks racing tomorrow night,so theres reasonable scope to bring in an adequate guest for Stead. But please Sheffield no r/r.
  14. Amazed to read of problems with the Redcar track, given numerous posts by the great and good from Redcar about the Newcastle track,I thought their track was the mecca, the gold medalists if you will of the PL.
  15. No disrespect to Sheffield but this is a must win for Berwick,no ifs no buts,a must win.
  16. Never really thought it before but now I think you are as daft as your posts suggest.
  17. Giving his performance last night at Wolverhampton,ex Bandit Robert Branford hasn't half given some PL promoters a nudge.
  18. We`d all like another rider in the team,Alden wouldve been in my 2013 team all day long, but I dont think changes are what is needed right now.Theres no rider out there who could come in right now with a view to a 1 in 1 out change, therefore it might take more than one change to get the desired effect and thats just not going to happen, rightly in my view.
  19. Edberg flies in and out for Berwick meetings,as does Aspegren.Bellego and Barrett are the only two Berwick based riders.
