  1. Fair enough, are we including the Berwick Speedway press releases in that. I answered posts yesterday with quotes that had been put out to the public from different bodies,ie Swindon Speedway & Speedway Star magazine.
  2. No arguement from me,Im delighted to see Kennett racing for Berwick, and hope he is here for the season at least.Im only stating what Kennetts employers at Swindon see as to the terms of his deal with Berwick. As for asking if Im neurology trained is just childish. Are you trained in neurololgy.
  3. Im going with what was printed in last weeks Speedway Star, are you suggesting they are printing things that are not quite true.It said that Ashworth was looking at a few weeks out.
  4. IN-FORM Eddie Kennett is set to get busier after Swindon agreed a short term deal with Berwick for him to double-up at Premier League level. Excalibur Communications Robins co-promoter Gary Patchett said: "We are very happy to allow Ed to double up to help Berwick through their injury crisis. "Extra meetings will be good for Ed and we don't foresee any fixture clashes." The above is taken from the Swindon Speedway site. They think this is a short term deal to aid Berwick through their injury concerns.
  5. Berwick have been quick to point out that the door is not closed on Ricky Ashworth,so in a week or two,if Ashworth regains fitness he might just might come back into the team. You can be sure that a fit Ashworth will be an asset to any team,be it Berwick or somewhere else.
  6. Its Swindon Speedway that have put out a statement saying they were helping Berwick out of their injury nightmare and the Kennett deal was only a short term arrangement. IN-FORM Eddie Kennett is set to get busier after Swindon agreed a short term deal with Berwick for him to double-up at Premier League level. The Bandits have suffered injury problems in the early stages of the season and have turned to Kennett and Dudley Heathens rider Paul Starke to bolster their side. Excalibur Communications Robins co-promoter Gary Patchett said: "We are very happy to allow Ed to double up to help Berwick through their injury crisis. "Extra meetings will be good for Ed and we don't foresee any fixture clashes."
  7. Unconfirmed reports suggest he has dislocated his shoulder riding in Poland.
  8. Given that Grieves wasnt having the best of days, you wonder if one of the reserves shouldnt have taken one of his rides, they were both scoring well and mightve been the difference between a draw and a home win.
  9. Your right, but as I posted earlier, for the next few weeks there are no clashes.Should Kennetts stay with us become permanent till the end of the season then theres bound to be clashes where Berwicks fixture would take priority,of course I doubt if Swindon would go for that as Kennett is a big scorer for them, also,I think Kennett is doing the GP Quailiers this year so would miss Berwic home meetings to ride in those, though in those meetings Berwick would get a guest facility.
  10. Certainly bigger than the crowd that saw the Sheffield meeting a couple of weeks ago, probably around the same as last week in our meeting with Workington.Whatever the attendance was Im sure the promotion wouldnt mind a few more turning up each week, and given Berwick won last night and the racing was better Id hope they do.
  11. Ive no doubt that the Berwick promotion done their sums financially before signing Kennett, and feel the money their paying him can be covered by the extra people coming through the gate, especially if Berwick are winning. If they they get it right then the jobs a good one,get it wrong and the promotion will have to make up the shortfall. As things stand there are no fixture clashes,Swindon have no fixtures on the 2 thursdays Berwick are riding at present,at least at the minute those 2 thursdays are down as reserved on the Swindon site.Of course all of this is dependent on how long Kennett is with Berwick.
  12. Looking at the fixtures we dont race again at home on a saturday till June 11th and our only home meeting is Newcastle a week on tuesday, though I understand they are looking at bringing forward one of the later meetings. As things stand at the minute,by June 11th,Ashworth will be fit again hopefully and the promotion will have a decision to make.
  13. No need to old fruit the meeting was well and truely won by then.
  14. At the halfway stage Leicester were well in the meeting and probably looking at a point or two,Nieminen and Doolan were unbeaten, and they had Karlsson was chipping in with points.Sadly for them, they were blowing away in the second half by a Berwick team who provided all but one of the heat winners in the second half, the only bright spot being an awarded race win in Ht15 after Wethers had taken a fall while trying to overtake Nieminen. It would be fair to say Leicester missed Bjerre as his rides could only muster 5pts while Berwicks r/r brought home an impressive 9. This was Berwicks best performance of the season by far, with all the riders chipping in with points, and all of them getting at least one race win.Great to see Aspegren back on the kind of form we know he is capable of,and if thats after a kick up the rear end from the promotion then well done them.Kennett after not the best of starts its fair to say looked the rider we thought e is,very classy, but I think the rider that surprised us all was Paul Starke,a steady first couple of rides before a crucial Ht11 win over the tactical riding Nieminen, all this after Smith a made a mess of the tapes. This has to be the start for me,much better racing, much better performance, but still work to do if we are climb up the PL table. The only down side is that there wasnt more there to see it,but hopefully once the word gets round that Berwick are winning and the racings better then the missing fans will return. Im so offended,I hope Chek of the yard will be along presently.
  15. Quite right,it really doesnt matter,or maybe it does to some.
  16. The signing of Edward Kennett has quite rightly grabbed the headlines, and I hope he does a great job for Berwick, but Id just like to put a word of encouragement on here for Paul Starke. He certainly hasnt been short in putting himself forward for a PL place and looked like he did a reasonable job for Newcastle towards the end of last season.Berwick have now giving him a chance at PL level again,so I hope he makes the most of it and can chip in with a few points. How long he will be with of course might be determined by how long Kennetts short term deal lasts and that could be determined by how long Ricky ashworth is going to be out for.
  17. As it turned out Kennett wasnt on Radio Newcastle this evening, they had Christian Henry in the studio talking about the season so far with Newcastle, but they did have Berwick manager Ian Rae on the phone. He was asked about Ricky Ashworth,he said Ashworth had been to hospital last week for a scan,he was going back to hospital to get the results.Rae had phoned him but so far had not been able to talk to him.He did say however that as Ashworth had a head injury he would not come back untill fully fit. On Kennett,Rae said they first contacted Kennett 3 weeks ago and there had been on off talks ever since, they spoke last sunday and a deal was agreed last tuesday night.
  18. If your quick Edward Kennett is just about to be interviewed on Radio Newcastle.
  19. Damn you wait all day to answer a post and now you find its not there.
  20. I was wondering why the poor fellow had been gagged and chained to the Town Hall. Is that Seb who?.
  21. Having been onto the Swindon site, this now appears to be a short term signing, probably to get the team winning again.Presumably when Ashworths fit a ready to resume racing he would come back into the team.
  22. Kennett probably wont come cheap but the cost of having a losing team, allied to the fact not as many people going, doesnt bare thinking about.
