Even if they reached 2000, some would be season ticket holders, and others won’t be paying £22, e.g. concessions, and children (charged at different rates or free). It’s all in a parlous state - hence Sheffield putting riders through unnecessary heats of potentially dangerous muddy riding so they could get to Heat 10 and keep all the gate receipts. That would mean to pay for the away leg of their home match as well, they would need to find around £24k from that home meeting... If that is the case, and that is "average" for teams in Div 1 they would be better putting up say £25k per meeting in prize money.. £15k to the winners, £10k to the losers.. The sport spends a huge amount on salaries but never uses this money to sell itself.. £25k a night, even £20k, (£12k and £8k) would deliver a massive amount of prize money over a season. A massive amount over a season that you could market your sport off the back of it.. Advertise the sport as having "X million" prize money.. They pay out fortunes and nobody outside the sport knows about it.. The costs will be the same the message to the wider public, very, very different... Agree to divvy up the money as they do now No1 the most, No7 the least... Set %'s...

hardtobeat89
If this is how someone left the club in a financially stable position then heaven forbid if they hadn't! It seems as though those in charge have recklessly used the team as a toy for a season or two and neither actually knowing what they were doing. As much as people moan about Buster, he has stepped in time and again to save King’s Lynn. I just hope this can happen again.

Do that and whatever fans we do have attending are unlikely too anymore. It really is a lose lose situation for Buster and KL at present. mikebv
Each season their very own operating model that they devise sets themselves up for some clubs to fail... A truly amazing plan..
SUPERACE
Kings Lynn have been massively let down by the previous promotion. What ever the excuses, they walked away mid season and left KL in the lurch.
LagutaRacingFan
Alex Brady has shafted Kings Lynn. Signing Artem Laguta was not a good idea. Edited July 7, 2023 by BassoRacingFan

old bob at herne bay
Not sure cancelling one home meeting makes much difference tbh . Next meeting is an away meeting ….so more money to pay out to riders with no home crowd income . Along with neighbours Pboro the future looks very bleak indeed for PL speedway in 2024. Maybe KL shoul apply to run in the CL next season to reduce costs ?
