He doesn't need to be banned - clubs will have to make their own moral judgement as to whether to employ him

Fans then can make the same personal judgement as to whether to attend a meeting he is involved in

I for one would not part with a penny to attend any meeting where he was riding

But wasn't this after the riders involved paid heavily to clear their names? That doesn't suggest they were not guilty to me.

They paid whatever they paid to clear their names. Those that know the details - and you can always ask Paul Burbage as, AFAIK, he attended every day of the trial - know how and why the jury decided they were not guilty.

So is it okay that after a young lady is sexually abused the perpetrators are all still actively involved in speedway?

Though one did miss a year or two after a further drugs ban.

They were found not guilty of all charges.

So was O.J. Simpson.

With speedway on its arse at present would any club that signs him really want the possible publicity across the media especially if the nationals pick up on it?

The bloke has done his time and should be allowed to earn an honest living. It wouldn't do the sport many favours to ban him. His crimes weren't anything to do with Speedway or the integrity of the sport. They don't merit a ban from the sport.

I would expect all clubs to give him a wide berth though, someone signing him would go down like a fart in an elevator. I certainly wouldn't want him to ride for my club knowing what he did, rehabilitated or not.

I would also question how he's funding any comeback. We're regularly reminded of the expenses facing Speedway riders. If he's able to fund equipment then he has a source of income which means he doesn't need speedway. Speedway certainly doesn't need him.

From a brief Google search.

Finally, are you seriously comparing him to Rolf Harris?

At least try and think before you post!

Don't forget Split Waterman, who was twice runner up in the World Championship. After Speedway he turned to a life of crime.  Gold smuggling, lots of firearms in his house including two sub machine guns and dies for forging coins. He was also implicated with the Kray twins in a plot to murder a bloke, then imprisoned in Italy for possession of half a million quids worth of forged Spanish pesetas!  What a character.
