I can't avoid comparing Starke's scores to Foord's this season. Poole could've kept Foord but let him go (nothing to do with the points limit), be interesting to see how that works out over the full season.

I would imagine they didn't want 2 inexperienced riders at reserve, hence why they went for Starke

Think it might have something to do with Vinnie’s dad. Last season Danny Ford was reputedly far from happy with Foord snr’s behaviour towards some away fans. Would have had Vinnie back but for the behaviour of his dad.

You  maybe right, however there is also a very strong chance the promotion have made a wrong decision it does happen even at Poole

Gary Foord no longer works in the pits or does any meetings  with Vinnie.

Then I personally think it was a howler to not resign Vinnie. He will never be a world beater but he had a fantastic rapport with the Poole has and that is something never going to happen with Starkey, even if he scores more points. The fans want a rider who shows his heart on his sleeve and gives his all with a sprinkling of personality. Vinnie had that in spades.

I think Danny thought snr’s behaviour could tarnish the images of the club, and that wasn’t acceptable.

Agree, Gary is a good man with a heart of gold but a good choice from Vinnie that could have been influenced by the Fords..

David Norris is now Vinnie's mentor.
