Ipswich Witches 2025

Ipswich prospering but are promotion missing a big opportunity?

With Ipswich town on a rebuild of the club and a solid future in front of it, albeit taking a step back now to hopefully take two steps forward. Ed Sheeran flying the flag internationally for the town and three sold out shows at Portman Rd. Fabio Wardley pulling in 20k+ last night with a show stopper punch and putting Ipswich on the map globally again. All this being said, are the Witches missing a chance for a major cash in opportunity and riding the towns wave? Witches do normally get a good size crowd in comparison to other teams but how the town has been propelled forward in the last few seasons got me thinking, why aren’t Ipswich witches trying to put any kind of promotion near Portman Rd to capitalise on the chance, after all, the football and speedway have always been close to one another, only last year town had a footballer attend the media day at foxhall. I could be wishing but I think this is a perfect chance to get involved with how the town is moving forward.

Doyley riding at Manchester i hear (Weather Permitting). Let's hope he's fit and comes through unscathed. If he does, i would assume he will be at Lynn on Monday Night.

Fingers crossed we hear good news on Danny today and no serious damage has been done. Just hope it isn’t the same hand/wrist injury that caused him so many problems last year!

Was also concerned for Doyle after his first couple of rides last night. Looked way off it and struggling, but then switched bikes and looked very competitive for the rest of the meeting. He was absolutely flying past Kvech until he lost control slightly and unfortunately collected Jan. Hopefully Jan isnt feeling too second hand and rides today and tomorrow for Lynn. He’s been in terrific form.

Has been a very tough few weeks for JJ with a series of falls and knocks which have hampered him, and limited his scoring somewhat, after an exceptional start to the season

A great shame for him and the team

Nobody can get near him tonight in wroclaw 17 of 6 rides so far.

Those 48 hours from Monday seem to have made all the difference to his injury looking at his scores last night and tonight...

Who would have thought such a short time would make him capable of riding so well? :D

It’s great to read that Danyon Hume’s surgery yesterday has been classed as successful.

Here’s hoping for a full and speedy recovery for someone who always gives their all irrespective.

I see Belle Vue, Sheffield & Leicester, all are still to race at Birmingham & Oxford. T

Good chance of two extra away wins, maybe Ipswich aren't as guaranteed to finish top as I thought they were?

Realistically I can only see Sheffield finishing above Ipswich. But still think Witches are favourites to finish top.

Jason signed as 28 day replacement for Jordan,

Brilliant move. Ipswich have built their team so brilliantly & now even their second choice RS is a strong rider, something other clubs couldn't manage.

Really should be favourites for everything.

Even after the aggregate loss to Lynn, still think Ipswich look the strongest team on paper. But they'll need to do it on the track over the final 4 matches.

Guy Nicholls continues to show his commitment to the local communities.  After the recent huge downpours and flooding on the main road at Kesgrave (used of course every day by his vehicles), a big section of the adjacent cycle and footpaths was left covered in a thick sludge. A team with a Tru7 Road Sweeper cleared it all away!  I'm sure he's a hard-nosed businessman, but he's definitely still firmly attached to his roots.
