I've looked at a few clubs accounts in the past and many (if not all) of them seem to weave very tangled webs 🕸️

Sheffield Ipswich and Belle Vue are very easy to intrepet, on paper Ipswich are the best of those 3 - BIrmingham, Leicester are a little tricker and Kings Lynn are mixed along with the stocks so its impossible to see as they didn't seperate out. Peterboroughs were fairly easy to see, no idea about Oxford.

No Kerr has ridden poorly for Poole too.

Is he though?

From May onwards he's only failed to ride to his average 3 times when you take out the Bonus Points (Signed on a 7.76)

Think the ownership are at fault for expecting far too much from Lewi tbh.

Yes Bates family firm had the contract fitting water meters and associated pipe work for Yorkshire Water and Severn Trent in North Derbyshire however they lost this unexpectedly and have not been able to pick up other contracts so had to lay off a lot of staff .

Timing was not great as had just moved HQ and  made significant investments into two new pub ventures as well as a general slow down in Speedway attendances so where as previously they could pay riders through their other companies cannot do that now and from what I have been told the Bates family have been putting large amounts of their own money in to keep the team on track

This of course knackers the cash, cash, cash flow from the van loads of scrap metal/meters removed and taken to London. They've literally run out of brass!

It’s the Poole fans they expect everyone who signs for them to up their average

When the Fords build the team, they are always looking at riders that are going to increase their average, nothing wrong with that, 9 times out of 10 they get it right

Interesting that the British Speedway website still hasn’t updated the latest team declarations to include the Sheffield changes, they usually update on same day of the announcement, surely Sheffield wouldn’t announce signings that didn’t fit within the points limit allowed??

Are they awaiting payment to the riders before changes can be implemented?

I presume the Captains no longer have to sign the pre match declaration that all riders are paid up to date?

I’ve questioned whether these changes breach the regulations. Surely Nick Morris will be using his established average from 2023 (6.43), and as a foreign rider doesn’t Etheridge’s average have to be 4.00 as a minimum?

Removing Kerr and Sedgmen from the 1-7 leaves Sheffield with 9.91 to replace them, and combined Morris and Etheridge are 10.43, putting them at 40.52…

Jye must be using his converted Championship average which today is 3.34,and 3.40 on 1st Aug, and not his  last 2023 Prem average(4.76).

But as a foreign rider, I thought his average couldn’t be below a 4.00, regardless of what the conversion is?

Fancis Gusts too. 3.00 Prem average allowed him to sign for Oxford in the Champ on a 4.50 converted ave.

Doing all they can to help British riders (not)!

Kerr finishes last season on 7.96 with GB reduction down to 7.76, his current GSA is 6.96 that is quite a drop off. Is it too much to ask to maintain your average?

If you're looking for riders to maintain their average, then maybe don't sign a 35 year old. 😉
