topaz325
Workington are back in action this weekend in a KOC tie against Edinburgh Monarchs , the first leg taking place on the Friday evening prior to this meeting. Tate Zisckhe is missing due to being away at Glasgow in a GP 2 qualifier. So will it be raincoats and coffee or sunscreen and ice cream. Who knows... szkocjasid
I think r/r at home is decent cover for Zischke, especially with 2 decent reserves who can be used, even though they don't have to take any r/r outings. Away from home I'd definitely use a guest.
bigbird
Do the comets actually need a guest for the Friday.for the Saturday I've a feeling it's Eric riss possibly guesting for us.

He'd be a great guest. If true I take back my suggestion for going with r/r

CTD26 Posted yesterday at 08:43 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 08:43 AM Think flint is a good choice, decent racer around our place and will score some much needed points. Big performance needed over the 2 fixtures this week by a few riders

SteelShoe
Important couple of fixtures for both clubs. Worky will have targetted this as a must win when the fixtures came out, not just because the Tigers await the winners a fixture that I look forward too but also because it will provide two extra fixtures in what is a thin calendar. Neila
Just seen Edinburgh have declared mark parker at reserve, a Cumbrian but imo not at championship level, so may have a impact for a comets victory over 2 legs

He's no where near a top rider in the NDL and he'll only score tomorrow if mechanical gremlins come along for our riders.
SCS
I think that workington will need last seasons Troy Batchalor to turn up for the weekend meetings. Makes you wonder if theres something wrong.

I'm more concerned about how the Comets perform, we need to step up.
Neila
Looks like the weather forecast has changed for the better, much needed rain overnight to water the track ( and me garden 😆 ) then to clear up. Let's get plenty of fans trackside to cheer on the comets to the next round of the cup UTC

BUT...the track could be waterlogged by then. And understandably our management dont want to take any financial risks in attempting to run the meeting, when it might have to be be called off on Saturday morning ! On recent trends I would guess we are looking at an early call off...possibly Friday night ! Plus a dull overcast day could well impact on crowd numbers, even if they did run it. But if you watch the forecast rather than listen to the clowns in front of the map, not much rain is forecast, everything is bone dry, so it will be like a sponge soaking the rain up. Just bring yer brolly 2morrow just in case 😄
