PLYMOUTH V POOLE, KO CUP 1ST LEG, SAT 24/05/25.

Shock Poole lose and blame the track 😂

maybe they need to look at the underperforming riders.

I did think Sargent is a decent upgrade on Marson and would have had more points but starke stuck him in the fence.

I really like the look of Thomsen around d Plymouth as well but unfortunalty the way Poole have built there team if more than one of the top 5 are not firing then they will get these results.

Has cluff had a night that has maybe saved his job but I worry for trigger now as I’m sure there will be a change/s with the points that have been freed up from cluff and also the points that will be freed up from klindt.

all in all a great night for the glads but I still feel Poole will go in to the next round.

Pirates clear on a 5-1 after Harris impedes himself. Can’t have that says the ref and bangs on the red light with Pirates clear down the back straight. Horrendous.

The rules say if a rider moves before the tapes go up then it's all 4 back, this applies to poole aswell sorry the ref didn't make a special exception for you.

Lots of refs break that rule then. When a rider moves and then penalises himself and is miles behind even before the first corner the red lights shouldn’t come on, that terrible ref decision hopefully won’t impact the final aggregate score.

That is the trouble, different refs do different things. Some bring it back no matter what and others leave it if the rider penalises himself.

That might be the rule, but you know and I know not all Ref’s apply it.

It's almost like Poole being bad losers who would have thought that would happen 😁

Not bad losers, refs are inconsistent, sometimes its in your favour tonight it wasnt in our favour. We will progress to the next round, Harris is always good value at Poole so that will be fun.

Exactly the rule was broken and the ref acted accordingly

It’s just poor refereeing in Uk.If you watch Polish Speedway starts are very fair, slightest movement from any rider and it’s a restart with a warning.(there are not many restarts though), the riders sit still.

It’s funny you didn’t hear the Poole fans crying about disgraceful refereeing after Heat 15 last week at Berwick when they got a flyer and cleared off in the distance.

Agreed. Track is a disgrace Hardly an overtake. Gate 4 a grave.  Kerr & Starke disappoint again

I think this is incredibly harsh. I was on co-commentary last night and whilst I thought the first 4/5 races offered little in the way of riders being able to fight through the pack, from Heat 6 onwards the meeting came alive and the banking and dirt on Bends 3/4 offered some great racing. Ben Barker fighting with Anders Rowe, Harris going from last to second, Cluff going around both Pirates in Heat 12, Lasse Fredriksen v Zach Cook just to name a few. There was excellent racing as the night went on and it was fair racing from all riders. Plenty of space given but all desperate for points in what turned out to be another really competitive fixture between the two sides, a thought that must give the Gladiators management hope about what is possible this season.

Can't argue that Gate 4 is proving tricky, I believe that's now 2 meetings without a win from it but Riders did make it work at times picking up points. All credit must go to Mark Phillips, the track staff, the referee and both teams for getting on with things last night. As I interviewed Garry May at the end of the fixture it just started to rain then and it came down quickly! There was an excellent, interactive crowd there last night, great noise. Brilliant support as always from the Pirates too who made their voices heard when they could. It's a shame that Gladiators couldn't take a 10+pt lead into Wednesday but bigger picture, they're looking decent this season and it would appear that Oxford was first night blues and Glasgow was just being outclassed by their Top 5 - something I believe a lot of teams will find this season.
