Digging out Kurtz when you clearly saw the crash that caused his injury is very petty. First and foremost every riders dream is to be world champion. That would be his number 1 priority given the situation he finds himself in. So if there is a chance he can ride Saturday then he will naturally do it. Every day with an injury of any kind is different, I know this from my profession. We all know the setbacks and risks on a rehab journey. You have to prioritise the risk aversion. And that includes every time there is a meeting no matter what the team or country. I cannot imagine Brady or any other rider being too happy about missing any meeting despite what people think. It’s why they’ve chosen to dedicate their lives from an early age to pursue their dreams. As fans of course it’s disappointing but riders missing has happened since league racing started. And yes there are dodgy decisions. But you cannot simply say he is being disloyal by prioritising his injury for the best possible outcome for him. If Belle Vue fans aren’t bothered and are happy for him to miss the meeting then everyone else’s opinion doesn’t really matter I suppose. For me, it is his decision and if he isn’t ready or fit then it is what it is, but if he isn’t 100% then he should miss the SGP as well, it’s the same feeling I had for our rider in Doyley, shouldn’t have rode x2 SGPs. Priority should be full fitness, that was the reason for my first post about this. Until you’re 100% you shouldn’t ride British, Polish or SGP. If Wroclaw aren’t pushing him to be back for there meeting then we know for sure he isn’t 100% and SGP is something that could push his progress further back, however if he rides for Wroclaw then he has chosen to miss Belle Vue. That’s IMO.
TTT
I'd be surprised if Kurtz rode in the UK in 2026, Already started to bail out of meetings this year.

It does for me... I'm expected to pay the same price this week and the opposing team are turning up without their top rider who wasn't injured enough to even pull out of the meeting he sustained the injury in. This coming the match after Sheffield turned up without their number 1 rider because he decided to go to a qualifier for a competition he currently already qualifies for next year!

Maybe Leicester and Lynn get third and fourth in the league because of it.

Great post that contradicts itself eh? ”world champion would be his number 1 priority given the circumstances ie injury” then proceeds to state “ prioritise the risk aversion no matter what club or country” so then he shouldn’t be riding in the SGP as the priority is to be fit? Or is it to be world champion… I’m confused!

Maybe stop running meetings on nights the FIM run theirs? And maybe don't run Thursdays before a GP...? However. The UK gave up Thursdays to Poland, so its not like they expect every rider to be available every week on a Thursday anyway... Any Polish restaged meeting takes place on a Thursday and takes priority, so every chance "top riders" will be missing... The Promoters of the UK made that decision... Mind you, they also sign Danes in the Championship who cannot ride over here on Wednesdays... Best Wishes to Brady for Saturday, hope he makes it... He would have grown up like so many other young riders, dreaming of being the World Champ... He probably didnt grow up dreaming about riding on a big cycle Speedway track in Leicester... Restagings of Ekstraliga meetings are not Thursdays and Britian didn’t give up Thursday nights, they said Poland could run a few times and have priority on those nights but not all Thursdays. Gorzow rode their restaging vs Lublin on a Tuesday the other week.

Part of the agreement to get top riders over was to give them Thursday's as and when they need them... The UK gave up Thursday priority which they held for several years... It doesn't matter how it is "flowered up", if Poland want to run on any Thursday, they will... Or do you believe the UK has some influence over them? When I gave you an example that they didn’t for the gorzow vs Lublin restaging so it doesn’t affect British speedway that much. I never said Britain has an influence, I only stated Kurtz shouldn’t be riding this weekend if it isn’t 100%.

He had over 300 stitches in the wound... He had to be lifted on and off the bike before and after every race as he couldn't put any weight on it.. The track was not far short of a swamp.. And his doctor told him not to ride.. He came second... Speedway riders are quite a different breed to most... Edit. Just seen Ouch's links... Bloody selfish riders.... He continue in the meeting and comes second like a true determined rider would. Kurtz pulls out of Belle Vue’s next meeting. He obviously isn’t that same breed you speak of.
