Crowd was a bit sparse at Belle Vue the other night

you put everyone from your grandstand into ours and it would look sparse also

while our crowds are down, no denying that people just look at the grandstand and dont bother with the south stand which generally has more people because its cheaper

The one single thing that poole do is they categorically race on the night that suits them, have for years. Other sides do too an extent but they chop n change. Its why  the so called top league prostitutes itself to the telly money by racing when it doesnt necessarily suit them accruing a crowd.

Prime example leicester got great sat night crowds in the lower league when scotty was capt, now its a different matter for em entirely.

Instead of appeasing others race when youve the best chance of a good crowd .

Hold on, doubling up is a red herring as 5 of the Poole team double up one way or another as signed riders or regularly guesting.

Fair point but you get my drift if you could do away with it, it shows there is still a market for the sport (in this case even as you say where 5 are doubling up).

I think Poole's success comes down to three factors

1) The demographic of the local market.

2) The lack of other professional sport in the area.

3) The support of the regional media

4) The hard work and professionalism of the Owners and Promoter who exploit the above three points to their near maximum.

While it is true Poole does not have  a top football team Bournemouth does have a premier league team which is a very short distance away and I think there are many fans that go to both.

Plus, the continuity of only racing on the most-suitable (Wednesday) night....

I'm told that transponders are not being used this year so far, at Poole.  Whether this applies to other tracks, I don't know.  Clarification would be appreciated.

Tim that is not correct.

Transponders are being used at all meetings at Poole bar 1 where the computer crashed as first race was about to start.

While that wasn’t the best meeting last night, all this about crap track and crap racing, didn’t see any riders struggling with track ,one crash all night. If that was the case last night I have seen dozens of meetings over the years which come into that category.! The Poole fans are still turning up so they don’t agree either. Just the usual Poole haters whinging🤔

And many supporters who go to both. AFCB dominate the local sports scene but Pirates don’t do too bad in comparison, for a fraction of a percent of the finances.

Interestingly race times were only around one second slower than usual. Slick or grippy, smooth or rough, wet or dry, teams should be used to all conditions surely?!
