Watched this 'non-live' and thought it was good tense meeting - I see people still on here bemoaning their perception of a lack of passing.  Racing is not all about passing, faster guys can make starts too!  Well done Leicester & TNT for an entertaining watch, enjoyed Chris and Kelvin too.

Same here. I thought it was a pretty good meeting, and props to the track guy for getting the meeting on.

God don’t tell the Belle Vue fans that speedway isn’t all about passing lol

Lions can't carry on with a four man team like they did last night!

Kemp had his worst meeting for a while but generally has been riding fairly well around BP, but we really are struggling at 7 with Joe Thompson.

That’s the risk with R/R when it’s adopted as permanent rather than temporary cover for an absent rider. Becker is rumoured to be having a go back on a bike next month. Just getting back in the saddle though is not the same as being competitive for racing. To be fair, the rest of the team has generally stepped up to cover for Becker (Howarth has been great). As proved last night though, there is little room for an off night when your reserves  don’t deliver, especially at home. Kemp has generally been on it, but struggled last night. Joe T is a concern though. I’ve defended him to the hilt so far but he remains way out of his depth at this level. The RS berth will continue to be a problem unless they can get Gilkes back. Anyone know about Gilkes injury progress?

But Joe Thompson isn't the problem, it's the RS system. Bar Ipswich and Sheffield  All the RS's are in the two point bracket. Yes Thompson is the lowest, but the rider he replaced "Hagon" is only on 2.00. This surely is why Ipswich who have had Jenkins 4.61 and Flint at Sheffield 5.42 are favourites for the title. Now that Jenkins is injured. Ipswich pull a master stroke and get the next best RS in Edwards.

I think a lot of vocal fans on here are like me and don’t like gate’n’go speedway. I’ve learnt over the last few months that it is arrogant of me to project my views onto others when there is a preference for this kind of thing. Looking at the updates site only confirms this as more fans attend this kind of meeting than not. Also I did buy into the media hype regarding races like the British Final & the recent Manchester GP but can appreciate now it was just that - hype and not to everyone’s taste. Enjoy your speedway I say, however it comes as there are many that can’t nowadays.

essentially one has three choices with a telly meeting:

1 embrace it enjoy it and make the best of it even if its scoreline rather than racing which keeps it interesting

2 dont enjoy it slag it off and tell everyone who will (or wont) listen how bad it was

3 turn it off and do something else with your evening

Same applies to all meetings really and not just the TV ones

Unfortunately in recent years option 3 has been most popular , closely followed by option 2 with option 1 a distant back marker

Of course Belle Vue is the best race track but you can have great races without passing

When Belle Vue came to Ipswich recently …Zach Cook and Dan Thompson had a great race throwing the bikes at each other for 4 laps and to me that was just as entertaining as heat 15 when Danny King rode round Kurtz

The point I’m making is the NSS van provide certain races that other tracks cant … the final of the British final for one

But to just as guys fly round the outside to pass isn’t that interesting at times

Nobody is disputing you have the best track and the best racing

First chance I’ve had to watch this match. Pretty decent from the perspective of the closeness of the scores.
Last 3 heats were great value.

Fricke really is dynamite around BP.
