WookieboyDon
Congratulations to all involved. This is nothing but great news for British Speedway, despite what some might think. 😉 Good luck to them and hopefully the start of something big. 👌

Obviously it’s been said somewhere but I,like many are unaware of previous news. The Northampton bit I know has been on the go for a while, it’s the “who” that’s been kept quiet🤔

If that's positive and a good thing... You either haven't read the posts or have forgotten them.

To be fair they currently have no fans and based on recent history it's going to be a hard task to keep it running for a long time. I think fans are just being realistic rather than being negative. Fingers crossed it goes well though...I hope they smash it.

There has been a lot of (justified) concern as to the viability of such a project, especially with the timescales involved and with the sport being in its lowest ever position. Surely nobody really thinks a new track is a bad thing... closing mid season, having an uncompetitive team, running in front of poor crowds with an expensive team are all bad things which many have been and still are concerned about. Good luck to them though, I for one can't wait to get down there at some point 👍🏻 Edited 4 hours ago by IainB
Baldyman
Does anyone know the capacity of the stadium? I shall definitely be giving it a visit at least once.
LoweRacing143
For me whos fairly new to speedway and loved going to peterborough to watch this is amazing news. I will get to as many home meetings as I can even if they don't have the strongest team & then hopefully given a bit more time in 2027 it can become a proper outfit. Or maybe they've got some tricks up their sleeve for this years team 🤔 but all in all it has got be good news. I actually went to watch the F1 stockers there 2 years ago and it does seem a really well fitted track for speedway 👍

The majority of the stadium is grass bankings for spectators, but there is a large uncovered all seater grandstand on the back straight. Capacity won't be an issue, the track is holding the F1 Stock Car World Final this year which will see an attendance far bigger than any British Speedway Premiership match will achieve. Trotter65
Good news…6 teams isn’t too different from 9 as far as a league goes and the team put together will be competitive so it’s good news…and yes there have been fans who seemingly didn’t want this to happen, mainly Championship fans , a lot of who seemingly want the Premiership to collapse and fail for some reason Edited 4 hours ago by Trotter65

Without each other, both leagues fail... Sharing the costs of tier two Heat Leader's and Second Strings is the only reason clubs can run at the individual level they do, as neither can pay these standard of riders individually what they want to earn... The top tier has to exist so the second tier can have a certain standard of rider as the No1 and No5...
