siggysigalos
Wow major effort made here, and the 6th team does exist. I'm sure we will get some teams put up during the day, but as previously hinted on here by some, clearly Lidsey,Tungate,Riss,Kerr,Wright,Iversen come into play, maybe Rew,Jenkins,Harrison (RS), but brilliant to see another track in the Prem. Will be a tough 1st season, but exciting news at a traumatic time for UK Speedway and could quite easily finish above Ipswich in the table come September.

WookieboyDon
Congratulations to all involved. This is nothing but great news for British Speedway, despite what some might think. 😉 Good luck to them and hopefully the start of something big. 👌
TTT
What I think the 1-7 will be. 1. J. Lidsey 7.87 2. L. Kerr 5.36 3. N. Klindt 6.46 4. C. Wright 6.11 5. N-K. Iversen 6.71 6. J. Jenkins 4.49 or J. Jeppesen 4.34 7. J. Mulford (RS) = 37.00 / 36.

Obviously it’s been said somewhere but I,like many are unaware of previous news. The Northampton bit I know has been on the go for a while, it’s the “who” that’s been kept quiet🤔

If that's positive and a good thing... You either haven't read the posts or have forgotten them.

To be fair they currently have no fans and based on recent history it's going to be a hard task to keep it running for a long time. I think fans are just being realistic rather than being negative. Fingers crossed it goes well though...I hope they smash it.

There has been a lot of (justified) concern as to the viability of such a project, especially with the timescales involved and with the sport being in its lowest ever position. Surely nobody really thinks a new track is a bad thing... closing mid season, having an uncompetitive team, running in front of poor crowds with an expensive team are all bad things which many have been and still are concerned about. Good luck to them though, I for one can't wait to get down there at some point 👍🏻 Edited March 5 by IainB
Baldyman
Does anyone know the capacity of the stadium? I shall definitely be giving it a visit at least once.
LoweRacing143
For me whos fairly new to speedway and loved going to peterborough to watch this is amazing news. I will get to as many home meetings as I can even if they don't have the strongest team & then hopefully given a bit more time in 2027 it can become a proper outfit. Or maybe they've got some tricks up their sleeve for this years team 🤔 but all in all it has got be good news. I actually went to watch the F1 stockers there 2 years ago and it does seem a really well fitted track for speedway 👍
DaveWayne
25 minutes ago, Baldyman said: Does anyone know the capacity of the stadium? I shall definitely be giving it a visit at least once. The majority of the stadium is grass bankings for spectators, but there is a large uncovered all seater grandstand on the back straight. Capacity won't be an issue, the track is holding the F1 Stock Car World Final this year which will see an attendance far bigger than any British Speedway Premiership match will achieve. Trotter65
Good news…6 teams isn’t too different from 9 as far as a league goes and the team put together will be competitive so it’s good news…and yes there have been fans who seemingly didn’t want this to happen, mainly Championship fans , a lot of who seemingly want the Premiership to collapse and fail for some reason Edited March 5 by Trotter65
