Sorry but this smacks of desperation surrounded by a failing sport! Filling half baked Premiership teams with riders that have been round the track more times than a runner bean is not going to have punters flocking to the gates. A perfect opportunity to create something new and give advancement to NDL riders has been sorely and wilfully missed for the greed of the top flight clubs ( including my own)! That's the spirit... 1 2

Someone did mention Mark Webber now that would be great , a fella worth hundreds of millions who would have massive sponsorship contacts he's the kind of person who if he got involved could prove the kind of game changer needed for the sport. Not sure where you've got your figures from but Mark Webber, while he has plenty of contacts within motorsport (and is a current Porsche ambassador), is not worth hundreds of millions. 2

He was involved with the Coventry return a while ago i believe. I don't think Coventry would be so much of a gamble, but who knows.. Time will tell. Could it be what's his name, the bloke who said that was going buy Peterborough, Tomalin ?

I've heard a few names over the duration of the Northampton story but none of the 4 mentioned and given that the team has been built by others I'd be surprised I suppose Adams might be an outside shout as TM and (as with Ipswich) he could also act as a promoter if required

I might be wrong but I think Ford was being touted as the promoter of the Bees, not sure he was/is investing in the project

RoundTheBoards
22 minutes ago, noaksey said: I might be wrong but I think Ford was being touted as the promoter of the Bees, not sure he was/is investing in the project Matt Ford spoke at the Coventry Stadium appeal. Brandon Estates brought in the odious Clarke Osborne to say that Speedway was dead and no one would want to promote speedway at Brandon if it was restored to former glories. Matt Ford spoke in opposition to say he ran a successful promotion at Poole, he knows Coventry is viable, and he would be interested in promoting Coventry. Whether his remit was just to testify that speedway is viable, and Coventry would be viable, or whether he is actually seriously interested in Coventry, probably only he knows. However he's not involved in Northampton.

Biffa
As different names are mentioned for the promotion, surely it must be a current/recent person involved as they would probably need to be a VISA sponsor or whatever is needed for foreign riders🤷♂️. Just a thought

Whoops my bad just checked I would have thought he would have earned way more out of f1 , Flagrag is normally on the money he seems to think the new owner/s are well financed and have some big sponsorship lined up
