Daniel Smith
First of all, congratulations Leicester Lions. Fully deserved with managing the draw away in the 1st Leg. Secondly, my 2 pence in on the heat 6 incident. I think the referee was absolutely correct & I'd call it the same, it's Speedway. I wish this type of riding would return more regularly, it's exciting to watch & it's been a bugbear with me that SGP riders don't do to Zmarzlik. For me, rider's need to be smarter or more brave when someone steams up the inside. Slinging a bike down the track is just an easy way out to force a decision in your favour. One of the biggest problems with Speedway today is "Racing" has become frowned upon. Letting someone pass safely seems to be 'the order of the day' these days, it's s#!t. Riding to the fence, dive bombing, handlebar banging etc should be widely encouraged. Last but not least, King's Lynn only have themselves to blame. Lawson, Harris, Harrison & Klindt did (pretty much) their job / what was expected. Kvech & let down but Iversen 😡 Question for Stars fans:- If my memory serves me well, is this the 2nd time Iversen has declare himself fit when he clearly isn't & screwed us of any chance?? I'm sure he did this a few years back turning up to a final injured after a layoff?? 3 points over both meetings deserves a sacking. 100% R/R would have done better. On his day can still be good but those days are few and far between. nicholls may well still do a job in the second tier when up to race fitness. Agreed after very good careers they are both now on the final leg but equally I think if they got back to near full fitness both could still be 8-10 point men in the championship for another 2-3 years if they decided to carry on a bit longer.
PhilTheAce
well done leicester, its a good club with a great no1 and manager, they deserve the success heat 6 decision was a shocker but it had no bearing on the overall result, so we can forget about that.
Roger Jacobs
Well, I quite enjoyed the meeting. I've never been a fan of the track, but there was some racing and definitely plenty of incidents - certainly more than Monday night. Heat 6: hard ride by Fricke - he had the speed and the line, and it was very much a GP type of pass. Similar principle to Kerr's pass on Thompson in the SF at Foxhall. Chris Harris: He has reached the highest level of the sport, and produced some remarkable, memorable racing - but what a whinger last night! Complaining about the track, and saying that he'll always do his best to entertain - but forgetting completely how dreadfully poor he was on his home circuit on Monday. As expected, KL's decision to use guests backfired - the benefit of having a strong reserve negated by poor performances that swallowed-up the reserve rides. Leicester by far the better over both legs. PS: Are Leicester going to be allowed a facility for Becker for the rest of the season?

FishersGate
Wel well well what a great night for myself, dad and all my friends who witnessed Leicester lions winning a top flight trophy for the first time. God it really couldn't have gone any better for me. I was first concerned about the forecast and it turned out to be dry and a beautiful summers day. I mean even Drew Kemp looked a completely different rider. Every single lions rider turned up and looked great chipping in with some vital points. Alot of the fans I spoke to were semi nervous/excited, just like myself but looking at the final score was it ever in doubt? I mean a 60-30 is an absolute thrashing especially for a final, message sent to the rest of the league. I feel for Lynn fans, I saw a few around but they weren't very noisy. I can't blame them either because half of there riders didn't turn up. I know the ref made a controversial call in heat 6 but let's be honest it wouldn't have any difference whatsoever. Leicester are simply too strong at home. Wow great night of speedway and to see so many supporters celebrating at the end was great. We were all bouncing on bend 2 with smiles all round. GET IN !!!! Champions!!!!!!

Can't win though, it was heavily watered for a meeting a month or so ago and people moaned it ruined it then. Edit to add it was Dan Bewley who said it was overwatered and we shouldn't be afraid of dust. Edited August 1 by 40-

Well done Leicester, much the better side tonight after such a close first leg. When on the strack the light is even all the way around and the riders do not complain about it. If my understanding is correct there is no time limit on an rr facility for an injured rider. And I suspect Leicester would argue their is no suitable replacement. It also plays into the hands of Mr Dickson who I think is one of the more astute Team Managers. When they won the Championship double in 2019 he exploited running rr for the second half of the season with some match winning guest bookings away from home.
Racin Jason 72
11 hours ago, Bagpuss said: Well done to Leicester, they were by far the better team across the two legs. But what an awful, dreadful speedway track that is. I wouldn't open my curtains if it was in my back garden. And the referee wants striking off for the heat 6 decision. To be fair there wasn’t any more passing at lynn in the first leg or the meeting against Ipswich but because of the closeness of the scores it made it interesting. it’s a pity Leicester couldn’t be changed to a Redcar shape track and leave bends 3&4 in the same place and shorten the length. And use the space at bends 1&2 to have an open style pits like they have at Oxford.
bellevueace
Congratulations to the Lions a well deserved victory. Last season they just went off the boil at the wrong time, if they take this form into the play offs the double is definately on they have been easily the form team. R/R has covered for Becker really well, what are Lions fans thoughts on him making a comeback for the business end of the season? Would you take the chance on him coming back strongly or prefer continuing with r/r as its working so well? I personally think he would only come back if he could pick up where he left off. It's a tricky one, first of all will he be allowed to return to the UK by his Polish club, if no, decision made, but if he is, a broken neck must be a tricky one to come back from mentally... for me, I think yes, get him back in, R/R has worked particularly well for us, but it only takes a rider to have an off night and then you're in trouble.

The only risk for you now is if like Ipswich last year someone else in the top 1-3 of the side gets injured, Fricke in particular.

The other risk is, have we peaked too early? 2023 we did and ran out of steam at Peterborough while chasing 4th spot, last year we ran out of steam after we made the final, after the celebrations on track after making the final I did think that was a bad sign. Fricke is a pretty safe rider (despite heat 6), if injury were to come I'd chances are it to come from elsewhere (although I appreciate you can never predict injury) and then you're in the realms of Kerr, Batchelor, Sedgmen etc. for your guests and they can particularly blow hot and cold.
