Woffinden has apparently been promised a WC for next season, provided he rides well and avoids injury this year. I don't think they've learned anything.

That sounds fair. He’ll know himself if he’s up to it.
Interesting but polarising character. The most successful British speedway rider ever in terms of world championships but his swearing and tattoos put some people off.

Perhaps, but by leaving it so late he has robbed someone the opportunity to plan ahead to ride the GP season and get sponsors ready for the campaign.   Actually I blame whoever thought it was a good idea to offer him a wildcard, his GP form for two seasons was average (at best) and that was before the injury.  He really should not have been offered a place.

You are correct.

5 Sprint races again in 2026 at Manchester( Friday) Wroclaw, Lodz , Vojens and Torun.

FIM Speedway site is very quiet about them, seem to have qualifying at 2pm on race day so when do they fit in the sprint?

It’s part of that qualifying. Instead of the 4 riders out setting the fastest time in 1 minute like yesterday, they just line up at the start for a 4 lap race- 4,3,2 and 1 GP points awarded. Should be around 3pm.

so that’s 1st round qualifying(16 down to 8)

2nd round qualifying (8 down to 4)

Sprint race.

Be useful if they'd shown it in the Racing Timetable for the relevant meetings.

Mind fimspeedway.com is an exrtremely poor website so perhaps one shouldn't be surprised

Maybe Belle  Vue Speedway could also let the punters know how they can attend the qualifying and sprint race.

I've just had an email... you need to apply

Free Practice & Sprint Race

If you have purchased tickets for Rd 3 on Friday 5th June, you are eligible to apply to attend practice and the Sprint Race, and to view from the East Grandstand. You do not need to have purchased tickets for this stand; the purchase of any Friday ticket makes you eligible.

The stand has limited capacity for the Sprint Race, so racegoers must register to receive their tickets. Capacity will be capped at 1,500 racegoers.

If you have purchased tickets for Friday, you can use the following link to apply for tickets:

https://mpv.tickets.com/schedule/?agency=BVMS_MPV&orgid=53193#/sales_groups;salesGroupType=ACCOUNT_PROTECTED

Please note: If you have purchased tickets for Saturday only, you are not eligible to claim a ticket for the Sprint Race.

At the end of the Sprint Race, the grandstand will be cleared. Fans can then enter the Fan Zone before turnstiles open for the main event. Please see timings below.

Please note: The East Grandstand is not wheelchair accessible.
