I know Belle Vue had no control over the road works but what followed was not of the best. I went to the back streight as I had been told the atmosphere was good. Got to the entrance to be told that it as cash only. Fortunatley I had some cash with me but some people were told that they woild have to go to the front of the stadium to get a ticket with a card. For a National stadium this is not good. I was then searched by some very hostile security gaurds. Not just a bag search but a full pat down. Then there at 11:30 there was hardley any choise of food, not to mention the prices. Also people around me were complaining that they haddn't got a program. Then we come to the track. What a fantastic shape. I was looking forward to all these racing lines that I had heard about and what did we get? You had to be in trap 2 and then two options, down to the white line or up to the fence, nothing in the middle. It was just a gate and go track, such a disapointment. to be honest I have ridden better tracks on the beach at Filey in my sand racing days. And finaly after the meeting I went to the toilets to find that the water had been turnrd off so they could not be fushed nor could I wash my hands. As someone wh had traveled a fiar distance to attend I feel that this is very poor and I will be contacting the council liecensing authorities as I feel that this is a health and safety issue. All in all a very poor experiance at a stadium that should be setting the standards for other to try and follow. Dpon't think that I will be making the trip again Sadly it is all a business and clubs know their diehards will come regardless. I mean todays meeting really was null and void because you have a play off system. Make it make sense? All about making money and Speedway fans will pay their money same with football. Massive Crowd, great atmosphere great Home win, some fantastic racing, great weather. I thought the track prep and the work they did during in the meeting to keep the dust down was top class, they also managed the time between races really well. Even the queues for food and drink moved quickly today. The presentation of the meeting was first class, the big screen now with audio really adds to the show. Belle Vue would made some good well deserved money today and sent the crowd home very happy. A great day all round. Naturally home support massively overestimate the crowd 😜 viz a viz the discussion about Ipswich the other week! good to see however BH were always speedway days in years gone by with home and away double headers always a highlight! a larger win than I expected so the playoff picture just opened up

But in the play offs that wont happen, Sheffield came for the point and they got it. They wont lose by so much in the play offs.

Dpon't think that I will be making the trip again If you didn't enjoy today's meeting id give up if I was you. Roadworks why even mention it, nothing to do with the Aces and they Tweeted about it ahead of the meeting. Yes you can't pay on back straight with cash but you can very quickly use the app to buy a ticket on your phone, which I know they consistently tell people. I got in after 11:30 and got a program, there was still a few left after start time as was announced. I also got hot food at 11:55 and they had everything left but pies. As for the track this is where you really are talking absolute nonsense, it was in superb nick and produced good racing on a very very hot day. As for the toilets yes it's not great there was no water but that was due to a burst pipe, these things happen. Stop moaning.

ouch
Decent enough meeting for an end of season filler. The racing was compromised due to the need to keep the dust under control on a hot and breeze day. Only 6 heats had anything of note happen after they had sorted themselves out off the start by B3 L1. This meant it could appeal to the racing fans and the gate’n’go brigade so win win there. Big crowd and great atmosphere with the usual excellent presentation added to with the sound and pictures from the big screen. Shame a Tate EF in the away fixture cost us the bonus but if we are to have our usual bad luck, then have it in a qualifier. This unfortunate loss and our aggregate win against the lions earlier in the year just leaves Ipswich who we have failed to tame. Given the fact we pulled back 14 points over just 9 heats suggests we can be successful again when it comes to giving trophies out. It’s squeaky bum time though as our annual play off injury jinx is due in the next fortnight. Opponents take heart.

Annual play off injury jinx lol Beat a Sheffield side in the semi final missing Woffinden Won against Leicester away in the final with a full 1-7…. Or do you mean you had Iversen guesting for Cook in the second leg Ipswich lost Doyle and Emil when Nile’s clear last season You won the league because you had no injuries last season around play off time

Ipswich made the 2023 final due to Aces injury, If Wright hadn't got injured we'd have knocked you out in the semi. Aces won the league in 22 despite our number 1 being out injured and losing 2 riders in the 1st leg of the play offs final. Aces would have won the league in 2005 if KB didnt break his leg, we'd have most probably won in 2021 if Brady hadn't got injured. If, if, if.

Each year Sheffield have often beaten us on aggregate in league but haven't beaten us playoffs yet.

Dpon't think that I will be making the trip again Regarding card payments at south gate, we have been complaining about that for 9 years, I really don't know why as they have a card machine on the south side track shop and south side food joint so it can be done. Hostile guards my arse, they very friendly, yes they do bag checks, we took a bag full of snack and soft drinks in no problem they checked, no patting down, even if they did I wouldn't be bothered happens at every football stadium. Food what else do you want, they have pies, chips, burgers, crisps, chocolate bars etc, I don't buy it myself but prices are normal stadium prices nothing to complain about. Programmes selling out can and does happen at every track, they estimate how many are attending each meeting but more came today, not much can do about that. It might have been your first time there but you go on like you have never seen a meeting at NSS in last 9 years and seen the fantastic racing. It was very warm and sunny, track conditions were nothing like it normally would be, they were watering every 2-3 heats but didn't want to flood it as the riders hate that. So yes the racing wasn't at the high NSS standards but saying that, there were several good races with passing, equal if not more then other tracks (especially Sheffield), in fact the highlight from Sheffield last week was Holder making a pass up inside in heat 6, he did that in heat 1 today. Water in toilets, again that is another thing we have been complaining about for 9 years, there seems to be a finite amount of water for some reason and sometimes it seems to run out, god knows why but do complain to the council about it.
