As far as I know Lynn are not up for sale.

I thought Buster put it up for sale in a fit of pique after one of his tantrums... can't remember which 😂

Reset and Relaunch....

Invest the money saved on "top stars" and employ a marketing company to nationally promote the sport...

I would be amazed if 95% of the 80m population have ever heard of any GP rider...

Run on nights you get your best crowds..

In short...

Learn from your mistakes that has led you here, and start the sport again!!!

As a matter of interest, what national messages or campaigns would you expect a marketing company to promote? ( asking for Harry...!!)

I agree, except a bad product is a bad product and no amount of marketing will convince people otherwise.

I do think there really has to be a realisation that the product is junk and there needs to be a reset. There needs to be a vision for 2030 but really there won't be anything more than surviving into next year.

TBH, I get why people criticise promotions but I also get why they are how they are. They're fans and want to keep the sport alive. They have to do what they have to do to keep their own clubs alive, and that's not investing in talent that might come good in 2030 or stadium redevelopments that will take three years (and more money than they have).

But you only became PL in 2019!

I had you down for being older than 12 Iain - more someone that may remember the great top flight double winning Witches sides of the 70s and 80s , oh and 90s........

Yep saw all those sides with some great riders, the point is though Ippo went 2nd tier when they did... because it suited them, now it suits them to be top tier, as reigning champions and unfortunately, for Ipswich, they're on their own it seems (maybe with BV)

I never wanted one big league. If you are trying to build the sport again in this country and bring in new eyes, there’s no better way to do that than by promoting that we have some of the world’s best racing handlebar to handlebar. The young age demographic, which is what the sport has to be aiming for, get attracted by ‘superstars’.

One league now looks inevitable.

For those that championed this, be careful what you wish for…

Be careful what you wish for lol. Like everything has all been going swimmingly with the current set up. Alot of us have wanted change first and foremost and lets be honest here, one big league is happening because of clubs shutting down. Nothing to do with fans om this forum asking for it. Your basically blaming supporters for one big league when we don't even have a say in the matter!

There’s a certain other ‘2030 vision’ that will kill speedway dead in the water…if you read Speedway Star a few weeks back you’ll know what I’m on about.

Absolute rubbish. Show me where I say in my post I’m blaming the fans.

I'd say it's more to do with no TV deal as they didn't seem deterred by numerous club closures

For me...

Pretend no one knows about the sport...

(Won't be too difficult)..

And launch it as if were brand new...

Build a profile for it, make it a brand, get its name out into YouTube etc, with 10 mins behind fhe scenes vlogs, focus on making riders the personalities of the sport, share all merchandise costs and profits using a generic look but with each individual club having their insignia on their version of the merchandise....

Employ people who can influence and hype up the sport to a younger demographic, make websites look like they were designed today not when the internet was invented, use an interactive UK Speedway App, with clubs having their own individual interactive versions...

Stop being so insular, staying sat within a "Speedway Bubble Echo Chamber" and instead open yourself up and bring in people much younger from outside the sport (if the skill set doesnt exist within it already), who can bring fresh ideas that white, middle aged men wouldn't even consider...

Put the fans' "match night experience" front, back and centre of everything you do...

In short.

Look at what successful sports do and use as many of their ideas as is possible to help grow Speedway..

But, most of all, run it on the bloody nights that your fans find are the best ones for them to attend with their kids!!!

And also find a way to get a fair few dozen away fans in attendance to add some bloody atmosphere!!!

For the avoidance of doubt…

Due to the current situation we find ourselves in, having a Premiership is the best way to promote the sport back to a level that we had in the past and for the sport to truly prosper again. That’s why I didn’t want one league.

However, where we currently sit sees one league an inevitability.

IMO that will only see the slow decline of the sport in this country till the death rattle in a few years time. That’s why I say be careful what you wish for.

Sad news again. Birmingham, Ipswich and now Sheffield all either up for sale or simply not bothering anymore.

I wonder what the reasons are for Ipswich selling up? Anybody have an idea? Is it a money thing or a 'I'm not getting my own way so I won't bother anymore'

A bit of everything I reckon. I'm sure CL told his fellow Prem promoters that a 5 team league is impossible, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Championship promoters have turned their backs on the Prem.

No change there then, so what's to lose with "OBL" (that's not really that big)

The people who have left the sport in this mess ought to hang their heads in shame. Self-interest and letting the tail wag the dog have ruined what is one of the purest forms of entertainment out there.

There will be excuses. There probably won’t be any accountability. It’s easier to blame external factors than acknowledge they could and should have done so much more.
