I left Twitter X more than a year ago for that reason. When Twitter began there was a really nice group of speedway fans who interacted. Long gone. secsy1 Posted yesterday at 09:35 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:35 AM I would have thought that the first home meeting in several seasons that all the squad of Buxton`s team would be riding. Prey tell why 2 squad riders did not ride?
Whitelinehugger Posted yesterday at 10:07 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:07 AM (edited) Social media brings the worst out in people. The ones that can’t confront you face to face. Whilst I totally understand where you’re coming from, different people use different social media platforms. So clubs need to use them all to make the biggest influence. I don’t know numbers but I would say over 500 both stands were fairly full and obviously a lot of people watched from their cars, I would say they were more than happy with the crowd

Lonigo1997 Posted yesterday at 07:51 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 07:51 PM 500>600 looked about right Jamie? Not sure where or why Luke was at Tallington Arran Butcher rode then travelled overnight to Balkbrug NL for today so great effort from him to be at Buxton Sunday Dusting off the cobwebs yesterday probably went better than expected. Improvements meeting on meeting will be likely for sure
Dave_minall
I was there too, over the moon that it's back. Probably the healthiest crowd I've ever seen which was lovely to see. It was bitterly cold though with a relentless freezing wind that just didn't give up. Me and my dad had to leave after heat 12 because the cold won, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to go back for more. For those who are already moaning about it or have negative comments to make, please keep them to yourselves. The people that have poured their hearts and souls into brining Buxton back from the dead would be hurt to see this, and we should be supporting new tracks coming into the sport, no matter what your opinions are.

Dave, I think I can reply on behalf of some of those who have poured their heart and souls into this, if its a genuine complaint or suggestion of which can be addressed please by all means contact the club and we will see if we can fix it. If its a moan about the weather or the price of the outside catering, there's not alot we can do. I know there was a starting gate problem and the P A wasn't the best, however everyone keep turning up and you will see improvements every time you come.

I am going to comment about the weather, Laurence knows what it's like up in the Dales at this time of the year, there was no need to start the season until the Mayday Bank holiday, their will be plenty racedays between May and the end of September, more than enough to get the fixtures in, the extra 4 weeks could have been used getting further improvements done. I really do wish Buxton all the best and it is great to see them back up and running, I will be up their myself just as soon as i have some reliable wheels and the weather gets warmer, so you see standing around in freezing temperatures is not ideal for everyone especially for us OAP's. Forecast to be 19 degrees tomorrow. Weather in this country not too easily predictable.

Drive in and sit in your car between races... You could sit on the bonnet and stay warm during the race too, before getting back into a heated car....... Buxton is "rustic" and delivers what it does... Great to have it back....
