Anyone able to explain how a team can get a guest facility even though they’ve only signed 6 out of 7 riders ahead of Sundays first league match?

Again part of the reason the sports a laughing stock.

Is it not just a challenge match so not a league race

My first visit on sunday with my lad  and he loved it even though he fell a couple of times and was very rusty  but all round great effort from the team and owen was made very welcome

Thanks so much for giving my lad much needed track time

Paul

You are very welcome paul, because you and your lad (and others like him) are the very reason the club is being run.

I understand that this is only a challenge and that Max Perry and Alfie Bowtell have apparent pre-existing commitments elsewhere.    So no problem with them covering for these two with Rider Replacement and a guest (Darryl Ritchings).

But I can't fathom why Buxton are replacing their non-existent reserve with a second string to take them way over the (already too high) points limit.  Surely the spirit of Buxton is to bring on young riders, not to chase wins with ringers?   Wouldn't it have made more sense to try out a rider who actually fits within the points limit and who could be their actual legal reserve?   Owen Booth (above) sounds like a candidate in need of track time?

Maybe going to be a team reshuffle

It didn't happen due to the weather. However I don't know what richings average is or if its lower than bowtells and if it is does, Spooner could then fit.

Spooner currently doesn't have a team to ride for and can not guest in a league match but is also being given the track time he needs. Not all riders without a team place are new to the sport.

That's not how averages work.

Obviously it was only going to be a challenge match, so Buxton could use Zmarzlik if they wanted.  I just found it surprising to see that they were planning to use a second-string "ringer" that took them over the points limit, when I would have thought it would make more sense to try out a legal reserve, since that is what they will need for league fixtures.    As it happens it was rained off anyway.

And Bartosz came all that way for nothing 🤪

Have to admit I couldn't careless about averages. The fact it was a challenge match and Leicester had agreed who was in the team, you are right, they could have named anyone they wanted to.
