Yes but it does seem to get a lot of overly critical flack compared to other tracks. Maybe its because we make so many finals so get more than our fair share of tv coverage or more likely people who have a dislike of Poole and there are a lot, like to use it against us.

Good point. I'd forgotten that. Thanks.
SteelShoe
Went along to this fully expecting an exciting meeting and the Bears to push the Pirates all the way, somewhat inexplicably neither materialised. I have never witnessed a meeting at the Ecco Arena without a pass in 15 heats after the second bend. For whatever reason it was gate and go and invariably the Pirates were sharper in that department. Congrats to the Pirates who seem to manage to do what is necessary when it counts the most. Sure the Bears will be determined to regroup for the KO Cup meetings.

I think its more likely because it just not a very good speedway track nowadays. Used to be very good but that was some time ago (20 years plus). Usually a good standard at Redcar.

Their riders can cope with it that’s the difference IMO.

The world cup meeting at Poole was amazing. is it the material used or track prep or quality of rider I dont know. Bomber Harris may know as he has had some very poor meetings at Kings Lynn this year and at Poole. It was only 2018 which is not long ago that he pulled off an amazing last lap pass on Jason Doyle to get us to the final that year, he couldnt do that now. Biffa
Wonder if Jake Allen is on golfing duty again 🤷♂️. Is Nick Morris still ruled out with injury? I know it was a bad crash but no injury news seemed to follow.

Very much like Lynn, but that is mainly due to the high clay content material which just doesnt suit modern speedway bikes. That said it very, very rarely has bumps and holes. Perhaps a poor track gives Poole greater home advantage and home wins mean more bums on seats. Wouldn't be the first club to do that.
