Agree with most comments made on this thread. Watched on BSN, very exciting with some breathtaking action and really showed speedway in a very good light. Must admit I've enjoyed the Championship meetings more than the Premier ones. 

Congrats to Poole, always a well oiled machine. A big mention to Glasgow for always being in the mix and finally two other teams which I have enjoyed watching this year:-

Edinburgh, good to see them on the rise again and unlucky not to make the final.

Plymouth, a small club and some people knock their track but always close and entertaining racing. Look forward to more action next year.

They usually have sooooozzzzz much to say. They gave us a live minute by minute lack of passing update at Poole on Wednesday......yet nothing after a meeting with passing. Worrying. It'll definitely save on completely unnecessary bandwidth going forward so not all bad.

Who do you mean by they? Most comments and criticism about the lack of passing came from non Glasgow fans. Why would 'they' criticise or comment on a meeting where there was passing? Incidentally by posting twice you have used unnecessary bandwidth.

What a meeting. Absolutely heartbreaking, but f**king hell, what a speedway meeting.

As I said in the Poole topic, a massive congratulations to the Pirates who did as they so often do and deliver when the chips are down. That was a captain’s performance from Zach Cook.

The racing was remarkable; some of the best I’ve seen. Inside, outside, Glasgow, Poole, ding, dong, back and forth. If you could bottle Friday night, British speedway would be prime time on Sky Sports. 100%. It had everything and more.

That Harris pass in heat 15, the one where Harris passed two at the same time, Kerr on Flint, Harris versus Lawson, Lawson throwing everything at Howarth, Howarth bullying Cook and Cook responding by taking the trophy back to Dorset. Honestly, wow.

What a sport. Speedway won on Friday night, not just Poole.

It was a pleasure as always, Pirates.

Sorry mate; went along on Friday night, then had a busy weekend.

Gutted, but what a meeting. All credit to both sets of riders who left nothing in the pits. That’s all I wanted on Wednesday night too, but felt the track didn’t allow for it.

That’s done though. I’m gutted we lost in such heartbreaking circumstances, but give me a tie over two legs and a loss in the race-off every single season if we’re served that sort of racing. An absolute pleasure.

I hope everyone enjoyed it. This fantastic sport might be struggling, but Glasgow and Poole, take a bow. Both sets of riders were like gladiators.

So the Poole promotion, realising they'll have their biggest crowd of the season, with one of the most exciting riders in British Speedway visiting, decide the best option is to make a super slick track with no option for passing! Which is what their fans want apparently? I really can't understand that. I'm not saying design it so Harris can have a blinder, but a track where you go backwards if you drift off the line, surely not? Don't really like either team, but I'd rather watch racing at Glasgow each week & finish 2nd, than watch Poole each week & win the league.

Also makes me question why Howarth was used in heat 16, don't get that decision by Cami.

Each to their own, but good gating is and has been an established part of speedway at all levels for many years.  Perhaps Poole's opposition should learn that.

PS. Serious question - did Glasgow Tigers get much coverage in their local media either before or after the final?

Howarth in the super heat was strange, he did gate in that one but we passed him with ease.

As a neutral the speedway at Ashfield is very entertaining most weeks but can see Poole’s point of view if they are filling the Stadium every week with a Team that is winning every week.A few away and neutral fans watching on TV doesn’t  pay the wage bill.

I think we need to apply logic here for the sake of speedway as a spectacle.

If Poole attract crowds now, imagine what they’d attract if they prepared the track for racing.

Additionally, they build incredibly strong sides, so imagine the levels of entertainment Lawson, Cook, Rowe, etc. could deliver if given the opportunity.

There is not enough at stake (no promotion, no multi-million pound win bonus or no open top bus tour through the city to celebrate) to justify what happened on Wednesday night.

Poole’s riders showed on Friday night that they can put on a show. It’s so said neither side was afforded the opportunity.

By the same logic where do you think the crowds are going to appear from for speedway in General .

What's at stake for Poole is giving their fans what they want and keep coming back every week. Also having a team that wins means more publicity on local and regional media - tv, radio, newspapers and online,which in turn can lead to greater sponsorship and attendance. All leading to greater financial stability especially as there are longer term doubts about Poole stadium. If or when that happens GB speedway will be even more worse off, despite all the Poole haters.

True, but Poole could do the same with a track that is prepared to provide more entertaining racing.

Poole as a club builds teams with a winning mindset. They could still do the same
