SteveLyric2
I wonder as its almost the Pirates last home meeting of 2025, whether there will be any announcements about 2026 eg, a rider signing etc?
Diablo
All the tigers need to pulling up trees to keep the score close & within touching distance for the 2nd leg. A 12 point max deficit will keep the tigers in the tie & ensure a massive crowd & pay day for the club on Friday night. let’s hope Cami doesn’t play the excuses card again & keeps it real

If there is/was the remotest chance of Prem next season I reckon Poole would be seeking a number of guarantees. Imo, Wednesday night racing; a big chunk of financial help to offset potential losses like in 2018/19 and an undoubted increase in stadium rent; and to not increase admission prices; a sufficient number of meaningful fixtures plus tv revenue. Otherwise what's the point? So, unlikely in my view. Edited 53 minutes ago by SteveLyric2
Paddy The Rebel
4 hours ago, LisaColette said: I'd be surprised if that happens. I won't complain (I'll leave that to everyone else) about it I'd be surprised. Those who everyone will look it but to me a lot could depend on what Dan and Leon do. Obviously they both know what to do at Poole now but was watching the watch along YT thing for Redcar vs Glasgow they were saying that apparently Dan was complaining about bend 3 at Redcar saying there were a few bumps on it, so be interesting to see what he does at Poole. Depends what the tide is doing i guess! Leon tends to be good at Poole most of the time but could be a race to the dirt line so will need some gating gloves on. So as much as reserves and Nagel could decide things so could 3 and 4 partnership which sometimes fans underestimate how important it is i think. Can’t remember Leon ever having a good meeting at Poole
TheWellBehavedWorrall
The ball is in your court, Poole. The occasion is here. What will it be? Take your pick; a comfortable home win with little to no passing and a grey line to appear between the first and second bends due to a lack of dirt, or a proper evening of racing that will promote both the sport and competition? Wimborne Road has hosted some spectacular speedway in the past and as Gerry Facenna once said, “you need to bring a show to the stadium. There is no point having follow the leader and it’s not exciting and nobody overtaking”. Tinker
I think the performance of Flint tonight is pivotal. He's rather hit and miss and needs to ride well if Glasgow are to keep the scores close. Additionally, the Glasgow reserves are going to have to ride out of their skins to beat their opposite numbers. Intriguing stuff. It sometimes baffles me when riders use excuses like the track is different to last time, can't find the right set up etc etc. The likes of Bomber and Howarth have ridden there many times in the past so there should be no excuses. I'm a neutral and subscribe to BSN and although my nearest tracks are Belle Vue and Sheffield I have definitely enjoyed watching the Championship this year as opposed to the Premiership. As a northerner, come on Glasgow! Let's make sure those trophies are shared out.

Danny Ford already did before the 2025 season started. He announced on Social Media and in the Bournemouth Echo that both Rowe and Cairns had been signed on 2 season deals for 2025 & 2026 😀. Knowing how the Fords like to drag it out for maximum media coverage they will no doubt try to spread the remaining 5 over late Nov/Dec and Jan in the very least. I know the AGM is November but its incredible how the Poles & Swedes in most instances already have most or all of their riders nominated to ride in 2026 and that's before the POL window only officially opens & closes from 1st Nov until end Nov. Certain exceptions can run until Dec, but most teams have already been put out on Speedway news PL and Sportowe Fakty. They even seem to come up with UK Speedway news sometimes ahead of British Speedways site.

Wimborne Road has hosted some spectacular speedway in the past and as Gerry Facenna once said, “you need to bring a show to the stadium. For Poole, more than probably anyone else, winning home meetings, and reaching finals, keeps their very good crowd levels up.... They have a "winning formula" by what they do, and, let's face it, no one but Speedway fans will be interested in the result, so even a fantastic meeting will only be watched by those in the stadium and the stream (if there is one?).. Having 15 world class races every week, but Poole getting beat, won't keep the punters coming to the track in their current numbers, therefore the Poole promotion, wisely, ensure the surface is prepped for their riders to have the most chance of bringing victory... If entertaining racing happens as well as the victory then that is a bonus for them I would think.. The Poole match could be all "from the gate" and the Glasgow one have "passing galore".. If Poole win overall their promoters and fans will, quite rightly, not be bothered one iota how they won it, and "winning" always beats "entertainment" in pro sports...

That must have been agreed you would think IF Poole had offered Cairns & Rowe 2 season deals.
