No, only thing you get for finishing top is you choose which leg you have at home.  1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd. 4th place looking like Edinburgh unless they decide to win at Berwick.

With 3 Friday clubs and wet weather likely to have some effect I'm not sure finishing top will definitely have that choice 'advantage'?

Maybe teams should've run during the lovely summer instead of having such a disjointed fixture list.

What a ridiculous thought!!!:D

The most baffling thing is meetings don't get run during those best months for decent weather...

I can only presume, down to "rider availability"...

Yet Guestfest after Guestfest will take place at the start and end of the season, when the weather is generally not great for watching Speedway...

Due to "rider availability"..

Work that one out?!:D

If Guestfest after Guestfest is (as it clearly must be), their only way of running Speedway in the UK, then at least do it in the best weather to get the crowds to attend!!!

It’s not just rider availability. Track staff, first aiders, and other volunteers in stadiums also take holidays. If you don’t have enough of those around, you also can’t put on a meeting.

That never seemed to be a problem in the past.

Oh right how did all clubs manage it in the past?

I fancy Scunny over 2 legs against Glasgow, especially, according to the rulebook, Tigers are down to 75% guests for Howarth for the rest of the season, now that the 28 days for a retired rider has expired.

Hearing that will be extended.

Wow!...

Even my lads Sunday League team have three teams worth of players registered so they can get at least eleven out every week...

You would think UK Speedway, which professes to be professional and not amateur, would do the same with its volunteers wouldnt you?..

Meaning they always have enough volunteers..

Or. Nominate a two week break where the sport shuts down and all hols can be taken...

"The UK Speedway Wakes" could be the name...:D

It can only be extended if Glasgow show evidence of trying to sign a replacement for Howarth. Who have they tried to sign?

Just passing on what I got told at the Redcar meeting they may well have provided this by what was said.
