SteveLyric2
I see Plymouth are suspending their online ticketing service with immediate effect to speed up admissions at the gate Cash and card payments only from now on........

And how does that speed things up exactly? Surely you just have 2 separate ques on the night, one for pre paid tickets and one for payment on the gate? Years ago you got held up at queues while little old ladies fumbled in their purses for small change, only getting their purses out after they had packed all of their goods, now you get held up by 30 year olds fumbling with their phone trying to find their credit card, "E" ticket, loyalty card etc, just handing over a £20 note is actually quicker , especially if you have the foresight to have the money ready ! 4

Post office worker suggested paying for the 3rd parcel, guess what ? "my card is on the phone, have not got the address details as it is on my phone and I don't carry cash" I post about 20 parcels a week, do the payment with Parcels2go online, print the label at home, and stick it on the parcel, it takes about 2 minutes for the post office to scan and post half a dozen parcels ! Fail to prepare, prepare to fail; !

Your argument fails as in the first sentence you mention old ladies fumbling for change, but cash is quicker than scanning a ticket. All it needs is online bookings being able to be added to Apple, Google and any other wallet available, so not reliant on data or WiFi signal. Though the scanner probably needs a data or WiFi signal. Also the fast moving cash only entrance gets held up by those fannying about for money and awaiting change.
