Ipswich Witches 2026

Good news that the Witches are coming to the tapes and hopefully now some announcements will be made over ownership and how the future of the club has been/is being secured. I suspect that one or two of last year’s team will don the witches race jackets and it will be interesting to see what the other tournament is over and above the league meetings and KO cup. It would perhaps be better if the season started in April/May and finished in September and outside this clubs run individual meetings or fill in with NDL meetings which are the future of the sport.

Please find below a press release from British Speedway Promoters Ltd regarding the 2026 season. We hope to provide an official update of our own by the end of the week regarding the sale of the club. We understand supporters have all been waiting for information over the last few weeks and we will bring news as soon as we have it.

I’m going to go with a similar scenario to when Berry sold out to shears.

A new buyer/ownership group confirmed this week with Louis staying on board in 2026 to assist with running the club before a full hand over prior to 2027

Hopefully will be a better long term ending than when JB sold out to Shears.

Wonder if he gets the 25% again? He’s already had it once hasn’t he?

Why should he? The rule book states one season only

Not often in the last few months that I have agreed with therefused but I do on this one

It would need a change in the regs to enable it

It's not impossible it could change - after all there hasn't been this situation occur before

It depends on what the intentions of the promoters were and if the regulations align with their requirements

Personally I would give under 24 British riders a bigger reduction across the board to encourage teams to sign them
