And not the people who rent the facilities I would imagine most stadium leases would be a full repairing and insuring lease. If the damage was done over 2 nights, it's a shame no one knew after the first night.

Teromaafan
Whilst I’m appalled by this vandalism, this go fund request doesn’t sit well with me. This is why we take out insurance on things we own. Clubs take advantage of supporters enthusiasm and their voluntary efforts throughout every season, which is why I think the club is pushing their luck in this situation.

While I kind of agree with you, they've smashed their 10 grand appeal... hopefully if there's any money left after they've straightened those poles out (😉), they'll Invest in some kit in making the site more secure. It's a miracle it's not been targeted before now really in it's 15 year existence. Edited Saturday at 10:39 AM by IainB

If there had been CCTV to alert everyone on night one of the vandalism, it might have been possible to have some dubious lads with iron bars on standby for day 2 to avoid a repeat. I know of 2 tracks in the past where this has been an effective solution.

Forgive me if my memory's faulty, but i think there were a couple of severe vandalism incidents during the Hemsley era, which resulted in security measures being implemented. There was also the strange robbery incident when cash takings were taken from Mr & Mrs Hemsley in the car park.

There have been a few incidents, mainly just kids breaking windows etc, only 1 incident where someone tried to pinch a tractor, that was organised as they had a low loader parked on the industrial waiting for it . But this latest vandalism, criminal damage is way above anything that has happened in the past. 1

If a few more of us could “chip-in” a spare tenner or so, then the target will be soon me. Let’s hope some of the cash raised can be used to improve security at the stadium! After all prevention is better than cure. Well I'm a Kings Lynn supporter and I've just donated. I hope they manage to get the damage sorted and maybe up their security as well?

I found it funny that Speedway was under promoting itself again by only putting a few pictures on socials of some bent poles when trying to raise £10,000. If there's been 10 grands worth of damage I'd expect to see more, I've seen more damage to the fence after some crashes! No you haven't. There is no fence standing on the second bend. The most damage done by a crash was having to replace 1.5m of fence not an entire bend. It would be lovely to see you at the stadium when the request for fans assistance goes out.

I don't know, I've seen a lot of speedway at a lot of tracks and long before air fences, I remember seeing the fence at Wolverhampton being demolished one night when almost the whole bend came down, although I think their fence was meant to be collapsible. Anyway I'm sure you guys know what you're doing as far as fence repairs are concerned, you've always done an excellent job in the past 👍🏻 In the mean time I've sent some money over to the appeal, hopefully some will be spent on beefing up security at the stadium, maybe a perimeter of barbed/razor wire? If not... maybe every track should arrange for a few local vandals to pay a nocturnal visit... and then get the damage paid for twice...
