Whilst I’m appalled by this vandalism, this go fund request doesn’t sit well with me. This is why we take out insurance on things we own. Clubs take advantage of supporters enthusiasm and their voluntary efforts throughout every season, which is why I think the club is pushing their luck in this situation.

GoFundMe requests often seem to be the first thing promoters do when they hit problems, albeit its not unknown for supporters to set them up to help the clubs.  Can see both sides of the argument to be fair

I see the youth training day this weekend has been cancelled due to equipment not being repaired on time.

According to the article in the Star they have had specialist help with the more difficult areas of damage, as well as the regular track staff and an army of volunteers. The general gist of the article was that everyone is working very hard to make the circuit ready in time for league racing. I'm sure if they could have run the youth training this weekend they would have.

I have to say that there have many comments about the extent of the damage caused. There wasn't just "a few bent poles". The starting gate was destroyed and there was mention today of damage to the transponder wiring.

I wasn't trying to suggest there's a problem moving forward, just saying this weekend is off as I know a champ rider was going to practice too.

Good luck to Leicester, hope it's a good season for them.
