scunny1
So that's the team . We started out with a great positive signing and then it all went downhill. Here is my take on each rider. Picko -great signing will score well and get 5 rides every match. Harrison- Will be fine at home, needs to improve away form. Mountain- Will be Mr Consistent, with usual 7 or 8 points. Ablitt- A Poole fan's favourite but not Scorpions. Will not progress and a major worry. MPT- A real enigma, brilliant one meeting ,dire the next. Hopefully stays fully fit. Lambo- Rob's mate -say no more. Poor last season, a do or die 2026 season prior to retirement. Ingram- No pressure, just a learning season , hopefully will score more than his average. I can see why forum members think Scorpions will be bottom of the league. I'm not very inspired by the team but live in hope for a good season anyway. Trotter65
Plenty of scope for rider changes once the season is underway

We therefore need good point scoring away from home for any aggregate score competitions.

Come the 1st of May, Godfrey needs to make a ruthless move to use up the 2+ points available. Ablitt/lambo for Worrall/Voulas.

Would imagine that Pickering will get 6 rides in quite a lot of meetings this year!

IainB
Who gets first dibs if there's a fixture clash with the "Young" Stars? ... in fact how many riders are doubling up/down between CL & NL? That's why fixed race nights were brought in for the PL to stop riders being double booked. It appears they may be repeating the mistakes of the past... who would have thunk it 🤔 Edited 1 hour ago by IainB
Onthafence
Unfortunately can’t see this team doing much. Pickering to be a lone solider especially away from home. The lambert signing baffles me, didn’t just have a poor season last year, it was dreadful. Can say it was all because of his Low average to re sign but surely there was a young rider that we could invest time into. I think this team will even struggle to win at home. If picko has an off night then they definitely get beat.

With all due respect, it wasn't. The reason the UK have fixed nights is to stop other countries racing on the same nights, same as Sweden, Denmark and Poland. Mon UK Tues Sweden Weds Denmark Thurs UK Fri, Sat & Sun. Poland

As it all doesn’t fit under 40 if you apply the correct discounts. So very unsure how this team has actually been made.

Poland That maybe the way it has evolved but originally it was for doubling up... there is an old BSPA press release knocking about on the Internet saying as much. https://www.acu.org.uk/news/2017/11/british-speedway-announce-major-moves/#:~:text=Monday November 20%2C 2017 at,Association AGM over the weekend. Anyway, the question still stands, who has first dibs? Edited 50 minutes ago by IainB

Well must have been applied an 8 percent reduction for missing a season whether people like it or not
