Isn’t a 6.50 - 7 rider a good number 3 or 5,I think Allen done well , he was lucky to ride once every 2 weeks, up against other number 5’s riding in 2 to 3 different leagues ,done well for a part timer and guest appearances with us ,couldn’t asked for much more,Allen instead of Riss any day for me

redlead
Sadly, it's official that Danny King won't be in The Bears team next season due to the one rider over 8 point rule, It was announced at the Redcar awards do last night. He said his farewells and received a standing ovation from the supporters. It's unfortunate when rule changes force riders out of a team place. That apart it was an excellent evening, and good to see Erik there looking well.

Danny been a solid signing for the Bears, appears a good club man and a fair racer. Edited 14 hours ago by SteelShoe

Don’t think the rule is necessary when you have a points limit. But that’s Speedway.

cheekycobra
12 riders finished the season with a plus 8 average, 13 if Craig Cook is still around. With Picko coming back that means at least 5 riders will miss out.

I could be wrong, but last time I checked it was around 9 or 10 riders over 8. Still too many, but slightly better.

Kemp, Howarth,Nicholls drop below 8 with their 2.5% reduction. With Pickering now at Scunny that, if the rule goes through means there will be a spare rider with an 8+ average.

NC86
I was devastated to hear Danny say at the awards evening that he won’t be back, why does speedway keep shooting itself in the foot , I’m sure or I hope Danny will get fixed up but there may be some riders who don’t , looking at the averages it’s Redcar who have been post penalised as others like Poole and Glasgow only have one rider over 8 once reductions applied

That’s British Speedway for you.🤯

The points limit already does the job.
