Going to put a lot of points on his average in 2026 is he? Only way he'd be a second string in one big league.

No I don't expect he will bit 8n one big league there will be 2 NDL 2 pointers at reserve and those such as Smith will be second strings. Team totals will need to be in the region of 30 (assuming 7 man teams retained)

Any chance you can explain to me your end game with your endless posting about how crap in your eyes one big league would be?

Every time we go back and forth you agree with me that big changes are needed, you’ve even agreed with me that Ipswich don’t do everything right and that the top league isn’t sustainable as it is?

We know you have disdain for the championship and the quality of it and of course Poole and Glasgow for not bowing down to Chris Louis and moving up a league.

But I really don’t get your end game other than to act entitled and make on that you are cleverer than everyone else for thinking you’ve got the future of the sport sussed out?

See my reply to Ben91 - ots not what I would want but I see little other option

I'm not anti Championship,  I don't blame teams for not wanting to step up - equally no one wants the scenario I set out but it is the reality of one big league unless there is a miraculous influx of higher standard riders

At the moment I see that as inevitable

It’s been inevitable the last few years what was coming for UK Speedway but certain Premiership Promoters want to hold on to the TV Money as opposed to reconstruction. There was no way Worlds top riders would want to ride for money on offer in Uk.

League reconstruction should have been done years ago .

I’d love to see your workings for this.

There will be 63 Championship riders this season, plus from last season, Kemp, Borke, Gusts, Heeps, Knudsen, Nagel, Boughen, Starke, Klindt, Polis, Bowtell, S Worrall, Z Kennedy, D Kennedy, Voulas, Hook on the sidelines.

I’ll remove the unlikeliest ones and you’ve still got around 74 Championship level riders. We’d require 98 for 14 x 7 man teams.

24 riders to find, a few Premiership will drop down to the one big league, riders like Iversen who aren’t good enough in Poland anymore. Say that leaves 20 spots, 10 to be foreigners coming in on assessed averages, and 10 NL riders moving up seems fair, but you could easily get 20 Aussies/Americans/Danes to come who aren’t involved in the top leagues, this is presuming we stick with 7 man teams, we may go 6 and then suddenly you’ve only got 10 spots to fill (14x6=84 - 74 riders =10).

So no, why on earth would Jack Smith on a sub 3 be a second string, stop over dramatising, Championship riders aren’t going to leave the Britain.

And it is that ignoring "the inevitably" rather than embracing it and planning for it, that is the most frustrating thing for many fans...

As soon as 20 teams got hit then I would suggest "one league" should have been the plan..

One season in the planning of it, and then a complete reset and relaunch of the sport...

With the aim of every team being competitive for the restart of the sport...

Maybe they will do it in 2026 for 2027?...

You say "you could easily get 20" new foreigners - if you could  I think you would've seen a few more already (but we haven't - probably due to costs

If you need to use 28 2 or 2-3 point riders someone like Smith at the upper end of that range is very likely to be a second string even if by default

Just out of interest would the Danish rider who was at Shielfield in second half after the Plymouth meeting (I think) come in on a 4 or 5 point average. Can't remember his name but I think it might have been said he was a team mate of Jonas or Peter in Denmark.

He was Niklas Holm Jacobsen.    Sometimes just called Niklas Holm.   18.    Pal of JJ.

No idea if he would be a 4 or 5

Just a bit of scrappy maths

We will use your listed riders and assume 4x 8 pointers drop and you find 20 new foreigners and avoid having to use new 2 pointers

So in your absolute perfect scenario it would enable an increase in team limit from my estimate if 30 to somewhere in the region of 33.5

If you make all the new foreigners 5 instead of 4 you can pretend it's 35

Total access with Greg Blair interviewing Stewart Dickson on team building is out for anyone interested. I watched it on instagram but I guess it will be on Facebook and YouTube as well.

No doubt we have a very strong Team assembled 👍

Seems to be putting a lot of pressure on the last signing which apparently hasn’t happened yet. Looking like an assessed 4 pointer

Good interview to be fair keeping the fans updated. Cant say i share Stewart Dickson's optimism though. Did Berwick choose PK over JJ?

If the two riders are of equal scoring ability, their cost to the club about the same -- and the rules insist only one can be retained, PK is a greater pits influence, and works very well with fans, etc, off-track.   This is not to denigrate JJ in any way, but if given the forced choice, l believe PK is the right choice

I think PK could be captain in 26 and that could be what swayed the decision. I expect him to end up at no5 which if Morris is performing to his potential is a very strong pointy end. Hopefully Palovaara can maintain his average and the last singing will be someone who will improve.
