2026 Premiership is Go! - At least 5 teams

Could have a league consisting of three "Conferences" with "double-acrossing" allowed eg. UK,Sweden, Denmark. Then concoct some sort of fudged low level playoff to decide on an overall winner whilst still having three Conference champions and Bob's your uncle, you've got one league and "up yours Poland"

A 21/22 team league would suffice for me....

One Home and one Away...

40/42 matches plus play offs...

Or, two divisions with promotion and relegation from the outset...?

Most riders would do this league and then Poland..

It would knacker the second tier in the UK though, which would lose most, if not all, of its heat leaders...

It would though bring some decent crowds to the five or six teams from GB, and, you would hope, bring a decent TV deal and wider publicity...

More than any "solution" of running UK Speedway as it currently stands, with two small leagues, (forever going nowhere), ever will...

Now that the excitement  has died down 🥱 It is disappointing to see that there is still a fixation on the 15 heat formula for ALL meetings in all leagues in the UK.

why?

Could the 5 team PL be made a little more intersting byusing a different race formula for the B fixtures ? Or a different formula for the P.offs ?
Lack of imagination.

Yes that would make a lot of sense to have a different format and structure for the B fixtures. I think something along those lines is the only way of avoiding the monotony

The league is a single competition so it makes no sense at all and is a positively stupid idea. [How for example do averages work with different team formats]. What might be workable [the Danes already do it] is different formats for the play-offs.

However what would be an excellent idea would be for different formats for the KO Cup and the 'mystery' new competition.

Could new comp be 5 rider races, one from each team, at each venue, 3 heats each rider 21 races. If a team needs guests can only be from lower division

I think they're reffering to a BSN PREM Series if no TV deal comes to fruition over the next Month.

And what would that series look like? Hopefully not another boring straight knockout

If Northampton run then you do a 2 Group Split of 3 Teams.

A - Belle Vue, Northampton and Sheffield

B - Ipswich, King's Lynn and Leicester.

1 x H & A against each team in the Group with both Group Winners advancing to contest the Final.

Oh,, nothing ground breaking new then. It's about time something different was tried

I'm just guessing.

Personally I don't think we even need another competition considering we'd already be facing the same Teams enough times as it is.

How can anyone be getting excited for a 5 team league is beyond me

Because those that are getting excited, just love speedway. I don't think it's wrong that people are excited for a new season. I - personally - would still be getting excited if there were just two teams left as I always miss speedway over the winter.

Yes, the current situation is far from ideal and there's plenty that could be done in the future to improve things, but it's not going to stop me from going to meetings and enjoying myself. Boycotting the sport is not going to save it.

Not being funny but people say this every year, and nothing ever changes, if we keep going like this there will be no future!
