But that doesn’t make the current/latest format a fair reflection of the overall performance of riders during the first 20 heats. The first 20 heats are the starter - heats 21,22 and 23 the main course.

Which currently means a rider finishing tenth after heat 20 could actually win the GP. A bit like having a main course taken from the freezer warmed up in a microwave and falsely served up as a freshly prepared dish. But for now - the GP format is what it is. I for one hope it is revised for the better next year if for no other reason than to remove the opportunity for Tatum to keep abbreviating Last Chance Qualifier. LCQ’s sounds like something he should take medication for. “Here comes the LCQ’s” - pass the medicine.

FAST GATER
The powers that be wants the main competitors to hopefully trip up on some occasions rather than it become a two or three horse race early in the series. The system we have now means you must make the final otherwise you very quickly have a mountain to climb . Whether we like it or not the idea is to level the plain-field( making it more of a lottery ) rather than letting water find it's own level which would invariable mean the series being dominated by the those that demonstrate consistency throughout theGP'S . Whilst I understand the points you make they are not actually correct. The concept of arriving at a final was to provide a winner takes all final race rather than trip up “the favourites”. Consequently, as you say today’s system means those riders not making finals face a mountain to climb. Which of course actually happens with the leading minority of riders more often than not making the finals leaving the majority to scrabble up the mountain. Fromafar
Basically what they are hope that a Top man eg.Smarslik ,Kurtz Bewley don’t make the Top2 on the night and drop points in the Semi like Kurtz did at the weekend.
LagutaRacingFan
I didn't even know a GP was happening on Saturday. The decline of the GP series is a tragedy. It wouldn't surprise me if it was wound up a in few years.

That's what happened to BZ last year one really bad GP by his standards and he had Kurtz snapping at his heels for the rest of the series
