Sometimes it seems to take the Aces a while to get dialled-in to their own track, but once they do it's a different story.
Baldyman
Done better than I thought as they got off to a good start, and kept it close until 13 and 15,,. It's been us doing that for a few years, but now the tables have turned. Question marks over Bangs so far, as that was expected to be his best track

I feel with the league weaker in general, the outcome is not as cut and dried as some would believe.
TTT
If Mayfield drop Hellstrom-Bangs for Jonas Jeppesen then Ipswich will become serious contenders for the PREM title imo. Hate to be harsh but tonight told me everything I need to know about how Hellstrom-Bangs is going to cope on British tracks, If he can't score well from reserve around the NSS then he won't do much anywhere imo. PhilTheAce
Good win and shown why belle vue will win at a canter this season. Very poor performance yet still ran out easy winners. Poor crowd yes but same last year. First 5 matches took a big hit because of the GP then soon as that finished the crowds improved massively. Expect same to happen again. Belle vue really need to get them expensive GP tickets on sale much sooner than a few weeks before the season. Wouldn't worry about bangs. Not easy settling into the uk. The tyres are not fit for purpose and it can take a rider a full season to learn how the tyre reacts etc.
marko
Bit harsh complaining about the size of the crowd imo, its a big stadium so always going to look less than other tracks, also i dont buy the "but its Manchester" the place like Birmingham is full of demographics (thats me being politically correct) that dont even know what speedway is yet alone have any interest in it and never will have even if every bus in the city carried huge advertisements for it. Anyways, the match itself was classic Belle Vue with some great racing, much as i expected Lawson and Nicholls were hardly at the races, Brannan, King, Tobi and to a lesser extent Jason all played a part in keep the score a lot closer than many including myself predicted.

Col
The track was far too grippy in the first four heats, they graded & watered it again after the riders did there track walk. Plus Aces had gates 1&3 3 times in first four heats, gate two was offering nitro boost starts during that period. Bewley wasn't gating again but his battles with Brennan in heats 13 & 15 were sensational, best I have ever seen Tom ride. King was good for Witches. Edwards did well as Musielsk chipped in. Nicholls, Hellström Bängs and to a slightly lesser extent Lawson were dreadful. Cook was good value after his tapes exclusion, Kildemand can certainly generate some speed around the boards but it doesn't seem to get him anywhere! Good to watch though. Cairns had one good ride when he split the Witches in heat 8, was actually leading for half a lap but was riding to low and King was fast. More to come from Blödorn hopefully, first meeting back from injury. Zischke won heat 2 but that was about it.
Col
2 hours ago, Badge said: My favourite (not) in heat 7🙄, shouldn't be allowed for home teams 😠 I don't know why they bothered doing that TS, Aces could have used Bewley as a TS with Kurtz the heat before. Zischke would have beaten Lawson & Nicholls. My only thought is that they thought Blödorn needed 4 laps to get dialled in. 2 hours ago, chun said: Witches would have won if it wasn’t for Kurtz and Bewley And isn't that why Belle Vue signed the 'Ninjas'. 2 hours ago, Baldyman said: Question marks over Bangs so far, as that was expected to be his best track He saw it once in 2021 FFS. Pretty sure he’s on about the type of track suiting his alleged riding style, not his actual record on it!

There are far more people at the GPS because they come from across British speedway, and Poland, etc. It's the same story at most tracks - Ipswich had very high attendances for the Cup final and play-off meetings, but a big number of those people aren't attracted as regulars for league racing (although the Witches seem to have a stronger core of regular fans, compared to others). The question for Belle Vue is: the track produces very good racing, yet those who come for the Finals aren't bothered about that same level of on-track entertainment for the humdrum of infrequent league racing ...
