Witches v Stars May 4th

Recommended Posts

Can’t imagine the stars fans are too happy either.  Nothing worse than the meeting being over as a contest after heat 8.  I wonder if Nicholls is going to struggle this year with his age and recent injuries.  Could he be moved to no.2?

Thursday May 7th - everyone's chance to make the change.....

What, for the reform or tory clowns? 14 years of their rule has left the country in tatters, and well done Nigel for brexit, what a disaster.

Castagna needs to be replaced, I know it’s early but it’s never that long before it’s too late 🤷🏻‍♂️ I know Harris and Cook have been a great partnership at home but I’d put Kvech at 3 and Harris at 5 too

That's what I was saying too but when I thought about it, All it acheives is putting more pressure on Tom's shoulders @ No.1.

With King riding the way he is, It takes the pressure of Brennan somewhat knowing that the No.2 is scoring 8/9 a meeting.

Nicholls for me is now a carbon copy of Hans Andersen's last season with Peterborough and in the end he got replaced with a heavy heart, If Mayfield are serious about retaining the League then I don't think Nicholls will last much longer tbh.

Be a shame to see it end on a sour note however it has to be taken into consideration that Scotty isn't likely to score a point around Belle Vue or Sheffield so if the struggles continue at Home on a track that he should be scoring well on, Then a replacement is inevitable imo.

Good observations and I agree, I don't think a 10 point win told the whole story. I believe this was effectively won after 6 or 7 heats. Being honest that's the poorest Lynn performance at foxhall for some time and I can't imagine Rob Lyon would be happy with that.

I thought it was going to be a lot closer tbh.

Rob may have to think about replacing Kvech in a double change because he's very limited on who he can replace Paco with considering his GSA is so low imo.

Granted the King's Lynn faithful are fans of Kvech, But at the end of the day, It's a Team game and it's clear that King's Lynn aren't going anywhere with the current 1-7.

Back-to-Back 50-40 defeats at Foxhall and using a Tactical Ride on both occasions.

Who do you have in mind?

Paco has been pretty good at home and obviously isn't a fan of the Foxhole (our only away track ridden so far) so I'd not be wanting rid just yet. Just six last places today but only three heat winners and the associated poor gating (again) is a long way short of good enough. Reserves more than did their jobs but Max & Jan haven't reached the levels they are capable of so far and need to get that sorted ASAP. Cook and Harris decent as an engine room today but for those heat wins.

Overall disappointing.

I would say Jonas Jeppesen if the points allow it with May change in averages. Regardless if he likes Ipswich or not, your no. 2 should not be beaten under any circumstance by the opposing rising star.

Start delayed due to Lawson’s late arrival

Delayed cleaning his bikes? Or finishing off plastering a ceiling somewhere 😂

Well said. Reform either don't bother with facts or just lie (some of the things they claim they can do at Council level simply are not true) - they've made no difference in Councils that they've taken over.  In Kent, they've lost 10 of their elected councillors within a year, and it's an absolute mess there.

Tories have faded away. Suffolk County Council is full of Tory old boys who look after their own interests.

It needs a shake-up, but with people who have a genuine concept of what can actually be done at County level.

No change for Ipswich, because 7 May is not a Borough/District election. Some people have no idea of the difference.

With a stunning performance like that I'd accept a lot arrival every week.

Although I would point out that Lawson was wearing an older pair of Witches kevlers with Heeps on the back.

Depends on the riders tbh, here it's a case of a Champ heat leader (Castagna) losing away from home to a Champ heat leader (Edwards).

If clubs wanted to sign Jeppesen, should've done it before his average changed in May. Surprised no clubs went for him tbh.

Pretty sure he was under consideration at Lynn couldn't be fitted in.

Also on the point of Rising Stars beating other riders, if we are going to criticise Castagna then just taking the meetings involving Lynn we also need to point the finger at Kvech, Cook, Thomsen, Pickering and Ethridge too. RS's are going to beat people, especially Jason Edwards.

But he has an established prem average achieved last year, surely that could be used if Lynn have the necessary remaining points available?

No. It would be his current championship average converted.

The Regulations around this are written poorly, I’m sure they can be interpreted whatever way is necessary.
