Another big crash for Tai today with his bike catching fire apparently … 6 broken ribs … punctured lung and a smashed arm and bladder

Time to call it a day this time

I knew it was the ribs and shoulder, but not the others you have stated?

Woffy is a very determined character and speedway is like drug to him. Whilst I agree that it’s his choice when he decides to quit but that of course is on the assumption that there are teams out there willing to take a risk on him and are prepared to offer the payment he would demand.

It's not just up to Woffinden to retire, it's also the choice of the clubs. If they're willing to put contracts in front of him and the numbers are decent, why would he say no?

There are always at least 2 options available.

What sort of part does insurance play in that sort of thing? Do riders become uninsurable after a certain point?

Adam Roynon kept on coming back and back, maybe still riding occasionally now?

He’s like that geezer on Netflix who climbed  that tower in Taiwan or somewhere and also El Capitan in the US , without ropes or any safety equipment. Just bare handed. He has a condition that doesn’t recognise fear so isn’t scared of any consequences. Woffy probably has the same. Different breed these speedway riders . Other than the odd climber of course.

Yep he's probably England's best ever rider but i'm another who wish he would give it up and move onto something new he's no longer the force he was which is to be expected , but these riders have incredible grit as Woffy shows.

Chris Holder is another example should have probably had 2-3 world titles but two terrible crashes and what happened to Darcy pulled him back from the absolute top level. and like Tai in the UK he can be 60% of the rider he was at his best and still beat 90% of the opposition in his sleep.

Tai is built differently. That crash was simply down to mechanical failure , defendin 2nd place easil and then engine goes exciting the turn. Tai will be back he has proved all wrong before and as long as he wishes to carry on he will do so. One thing we all know he is very strong willed and as discussed he wasn't at fault.

Speedy recovery Tai.
