In all seriousness though, chucked that away, Grahn getting beat to Hooded in 11 was poor, but Paco decided to go one better by getting passed with ease by him effectively costing us the win.

His decisions over the years have been beyond baffling. 
 

He has no awareness of how the team should line up against certain teams. Harris at number 3 is insanity IMO. Last night is a perfect example, you either put Harris at 5 to try and negate Kye Thomson and give us a very strong end too the meeting or put a sacrificial lamb (Hausl) in there, let KT run amok and deal with the rest of the team. It’s not a slant on Leon as he has been magnificent this year. Giving up a 5-1 in 13 is scandalous.

Agree riding Harris at 3 seems a poor decision,especially at home.You have to negate the away Team Big Guns is possible.Harris didn’t have great start to the season to be fair though.He was maybe thinking Howarth and Flint would be Ok in Ht 13,but Howarth packing it in ,the Team should have changed around. IMO

Harris is back to number 1 isn’t he from today, so will mean R/R, guest or replacement for Howarth coming in at number 3 or 5.  Could do horses for courses with Flint and what they decide to go going forwards in those two positions as KJP still needs to support at number 4 in his races with still not much experience around all the UK tracks

Redcar only have one home meeting left and are already behind us. Poole visit both Ashfield and Shielfield Park, so I don't see us at a disadvantage there. Berwick haven't eon away from home so far. The current top four are the only four who haven't lost an aggregate point. Doesn't guarantee anything, but it's hard to see who replaces any of the current top four.

I don't agree with the stick people might be giving Cami for yesterday. If I were to pick one thing, it would be waiting until heat 12 for the tactical substitute. I'd like to have seen it in heat 11 because waiting is a bit of a dangerous game and effectively says you're hoping you don't do well in the meantime (because then you wouldn't be able to use it!)

I'd have put Bomber in heat 11. It worked out though, so it wasn't a bad move, but I do think it's an unnecessary risk.

I also think Bomber is better for the team at 3 than 5. I think he works better with a more established partnership, which is possible at 3 but not at 5. I like giving him a solid pairing for three rides and I think it's worked out really well with Kevin. Kevin averaged 8 over his home meetings in July, whilst paired with Bomber who scored a paid max in all three matches. Of all the possible issues, that's not one of them.

Leon is best rider by averages this season and so putting him at 5 shouldn't be a problem, and I don't think it has been. 35+1 from 15 rides at 5 suggests it's been of no hindrance (and before anyone points out his third places in heats 13/15, points are worth exactly the same, no matter which heat you score them in - there's nothing magical about those heats).

The issue is the other four. 9+1 from 12 rides at #1 in July is a massive part of it. That's unfortunate.

Sam and Freddy have had a couple of better meetings recently, but neither were great last night. We need to see more of their better sides.

And Mario... 😐 That signing just hasn't paid off. It was a very risky one. It looked like he was signed off the back of one good meeting and that wasn't a great idea. He was always billed to be something he's not. He's probably better than he has shown, but his home form particularly has been abysmal. Maybe he should have practiced more.

I agree the Tigers are not formidable this year, but every single rider has had a different 'wow' meeting and also a few rubbish ones. Mario has been knocked down in our most recent opening heats. Doubt that's helping his confidence or health much. Along with his partner the last few matches changing each week and them also scoring poorly. No 2 is notoriously a difficult situation for a new rider. But I do think he's a good rider and wholly expect him back next season. Mario going to reserve now should benefit him and us.

Concerned by Sam's boom or bust form, which is not what we expected from him. Our overall lack of gaters was on show last night, thank goodness for KJP, Leon, Freddy and the titan that is Bomber. I hope Bomber stays a Tiger for years to come, guy is absolute box office.

If we can get a decent replacement for Kyle, we will be fine for the playoffs and we'll see what happens then. No chance with R/R as there's too much of a risk if someone gets hurt or has on an off night. Need a reliable replacement. When your number one only scores 3, every team is likely in trouble unless reserves are flying. A point won for the Tigers last night.
