This may not go down well but playing devils advocate.

I think most of the Lawson backlash is driven due to his personality tbh.

A lot of fans didn't like him from Day 1 and last night's situation is just amunition to use as well as the Leicester drama.

As I said last night, The entire blame lies with Paul Hurry and Mayfield because if they listened to the overwhelming majority of fans after the Leicester fiasco then last night's fiasco wouldn't have occurred at all.

As the popular saying goes, Fool me once, Fool me twice.

So much actually goes back to that lack of independent strong leadership for the sport...

Riders can get bans but still have every possibility that even before they ride for either of their teams again, some promoter will call and ask them to guest...

Riders, of a certain level, know they are far too much in demand to have any real sanction against them...

And, in a sport with so little to "play for" I am not sure why bans are in place, given it is the rider who hasn't earned money, so he is the main loser due to the situation..

And some bans can mean the rider misses no meetings...:D

Lawson has got by recently due to the points he scores on track, promoters must just turn a blind eye to his constant lateness to meetings with dirty bikes he can not be bothered to wash.

This story about babysitting duties does not crop up that late in the day its just a good story to go with without getting a suspension.

Apparently fell out with most of his family back home for whatever reason so seems low on support.

Normally if a rider is ill, it's a 7 day suspension, but Jack Holder missed a match due to his children being ill & didn't get a suspension.

If that's the rule, everytime a rider is unwell, they could just say they're looking after unwell kids instead?

As with everything there will be a discretionary element for the powers that be - i remember Rohan Tungate and Jason Doyle missing flights back from Poland a couple of seasons ago and as a result missing league meetings here in the UK - Tungate got a ban and JD didn't as relevant facts were taken into account at the time!

Nicholls coming out for his re-run when clearly not fit seemed very odd.  Wasn't able to ride from the moment the tapes went up.  There isn't any time pressure on being seen to by the medics as far as I am aware.  Surely he should have been replaced? Can only assume he insisted on giving it a go, but surely he is experienced enough to know he wasn't going to be able to do it?  Gave up a guaranteed point for no reason.  Obviously gutted for him, just seemed an odd sequence of events.

Let me get this right,

at 17:50pm he rang to say he cant come, doesnt he live poole way so probably a 2-3 hour drive to ipswich, riders aim to get to track about half 5, so he would have been aiming to set off from his house at around 3pm, so why is he waiting until that late in the day to tell the club, something doesnt add u.

and then to start a facebook statement like that makes you look guilty, ive looked everywhere and not seen any suggestions hes a druggie.

Ellis was superb, but without Lawson and Nicholls, Ipswich were there for the taking.

Not when you have Klindt and Lidsey who can be all over the place on the scoring on any given night, Ellis got nearly half the points total for the whole team.

I bet Ipswich will be gutted. How many Ippo meetings will he miss? oh yes NONE!! But misses 2 for Poole to keep the Pirate-haters happy!

Vast majority of Ipswich fans want him gone

He may be fine for Poole but not for us

Maybe now Poole fans won’t see him through rose tinted specs

I think you are misreading the signs!! The vast majority of Ipswich want YOU gone!

Poole fans see him as their number 1 who top scores most meetings in most track conditions. He takes his place for the parade so fans aren't that bothered that he may have only arrived at the track a few meetings before.
