Nikki Posted yesterday at 10:06 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:06 PM From my perspective. If it wasn't on somewhere i could access easily and free i probably wouldn't of taken the time to do so. So the fact it was on ITVX and all i had to suffer was a some ad breaks made me tune in and watch all of it, and i'd hazard a guess i wasn't alone in doing do. As for the racing, i think we all know Belle Vue has thrown up better racing in the past, but if any folk who had never seen or been to speedway match were there or watched it live i still think they would've enjoyed it, but sadly i think that number will be pretty small. I think the best promotion the sport can get is from us as fans just bringing it up in conversation if the chance arises with our friends and people we know, I've taken a few of my friends along to Glasgow and they loved it, a few came to the odd meeting over the following years but obvs have never ended up being weekly attendees or became massive fans of the sport, and to me that's fine. I just think if we all just let people know we go to Speedway and they have someone they know to go with it might surprise you how many of your friends and social circle would jump at the chance to go. You can give feedback on the ITVX coverage here https://help.itv.com/support/tickets/new?ticket_form=viewer_services_-_let_us_know_your_feedback Select "Viewer services - let us know your feedback" and "Let us know which programme you are contacting us about" if you start typing "Speedway" it will come up, and you can leave your comments. Also I'm told it boosts the viewing figures if everyone logs into ITVX and just watches even for a few minutes

Terrestrial TV coverage can only boost those tracks trying to come back too... If their endeavors get some publicity during the programmes... Developers have played on the fact that the sport has been on a decline, so, anything that ITV endorses would automatically infer otherwise... One of the key strengths the sport has is, as daft as it sounds, it's pretty low starting point, meaning growth can be quick and very noticeable... One or two 2,000 plus crowds and all of a sudden the optics are very different...

I have no idea why or how it happened lol.
