I think if he had ridden, it might have swung the result in Poole's favour, but then again, you could say that, with Kennett at reserve, it kinda evened things up. Swings and roundabouts if you wouldn’t have had the engine failure you wouldn’t of been able to use a TS resulting in a 5-1. Also the 2 minute light was still on when Cluff got to the tapes.
