It is a strange shape i am surprised with no greyhounds now they can't utilise some of that space and improve the shape

They don’t own the stadium and that they don’t want to relinquish the home track advantage. The track needs to change to make the product better. The problem would be is that the Edinburgh fans (mostly) will only show up for a winning/successful team.

We're all supposed to believe that Glasgow fans appreciate 'good racing' more than the rest of us and show up in their droves to appreciate it win, lose or draw. Connoisseurs who are treated to excellent speedway every week at Ashfield. Self-indulgent pish.

They could also spend a serious amount of money adapting the track, laying drainage etc then be given notice.

Similar to Poole. I'm led to believe a structural design was done and costed to widen the Poole track into the old greyhound track. The considerable six figure costs were impossible to justify without security of tenure of the stadium. Nothing to be bitter about. It's just a little weary and largely wide of the mark suggesting that Edinburgh fans only show up for a successful team and don't care about the racing on show. Edinburgh speedway fans are the same as Glasgow speedway fans who are the same as Berwick speedway fans, Workington speedway fans etc etc. You get my drift.

I don't see why a experienced rider of Lambert's or Kennett's age and experience should ride in a National Development League. Surely it is meant to be for young up and coming riders hence the name Kings Lynn young stars!

The track WAS excellent, now you get the occasional good meeting. It's boring, in my opinion, more often than not. I doubt there will ever be a track reconstruction so it's what we have until the end. Does this mean there is no enjoyment from going to Armadale, no it doesn't. But perspective is needed. Is Glasgow incredible all the time? No. But the potential is there every time and its a superb track.

We are spoiled now at Ashfield, Stevie wonder can see that. He can also see that the racing at Armadale is chronic. Ashfield obviously was very poor at one point. No one really complained about that as everyone won here. The previous promotion started the ball rolling with the new track at huge expense in 2010. Massive risk was taken as the football club owned the ground at the time. What do you disagree with in my post? If I was the Edinburgh promotion I wouldn’t be sinking money into something that could be pulled from under my feet. Even when they had the bit of land at J3 earmarked the wanted to put a similar track in it to maintain home track advantage. it is also very obvious when Edinburgh are doing well as you travel through to the west in great numbers. When you aren’t, it’s is the regular good guys that trap.

Well thanks for that, certainly not as oviform(egg shaped) as I was imagining but turns do appear tight. Bit hard to see true shape unless the drone could manage 2000+ft? I've been to Ashfield regularly and while the racing is often better, your summary here is hyperbolic to say the least. I think many of us tire of being patronised about 'good racing' and what tracks should be like. There's a very Glaswegian trait of requiring validation and praise (Celtic fans being the worst) and i think we see a bit of it here from some Tigers fans with regards Ashfield.

ASpeedwayfan Posted yesterday at 08:12 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 08:12 AM So with No Cairns for the pirates they operate R/R, I was very surprised to see that Rushen has a higher average than Cairns meaning Kerr can’t take a ride and it’ll be just Rushen and then Kennet and Slater. I’m sure it’s not ‘another’ error on the GSA
